Hybrid enclosures for power and optical fiber are provided herein. A hybrid enclosure includes a power conductor terminal and an optical fiber splice area that are in separate first and second trays, respectively. In some embodiments, the power conductor terminal is a terminal of a circuit that is configured to supply power exceeding 150 Watts. Enclosures including multiple protective lids over power conductor terminal blocks are also provided.

A power and data connectivity micro grid includes a first power sourcing equipment device having first and second power ports and first and second data ports, and configured to deliver DC power signals to the first and second power ports. The micro grid further includes first and second remote distribution nodes, and first and second splice enclosures, each splice enclosure having a power input port, a data input port, a power tap port, a data tap port, a power output port and a data output port. A first composite power-data cable is coupled between the first power port and the first data port of the first power sourcing equipment device and the power input port and the data input port of the first splice enclosure. A second composite power-data cable is coupled between the second power port and the second data port of the first power sourcing equipment device and the power input port and the data input port of the second splice enclosure. The power tap port and the data tap port of the first splice enclosure are coupled to a power input port and a data input port of the first remote distribution node, respectively.

The physical objects include three-dimensional gripping features configured to be detected by an optics system and gripped by an end-effector of a robotic arm with sufficient gripping force to move the physical objects against the force of gravity. Sets of the physical objects can have different sizes and shapes and, in some examples, include identically constructed three-dimensional gripping features.

A wireless network includes connections stations () disposed along a distribution cable () that carries optical signals and power. Each connection station () has a port () at which the optical signals and power of the cable () are provided. A wireless module () can be mounted at a connection station () so that a connection arrangement of the wireless module () plugs into the port. The wireless module () can obtain power from the distribution cable () via the connection station (). The wireless module () can broadcast the signals carried by the distribution cable () to the surrounding area.

In one aspect of the disclosure a communications network or topology is presented that includes one or more modular or adaptable smart pole assemblies. Each smart pole assembly can include a pole structure supporting a data-communications module and having a hollow interior through which a connectorized vertical cabling structure extends. Jumper cables can be provided to connect components associated with the data-communications module with the vertical cabling structure such that no cabling or wiring has to be removed or installed from the pole hollow interior when components are added, removed, or replaced. The vertical cabling structure or harness can include one or more of connectorized fiber optic cables, DC power cables, and connectorized Category 6 cables. In one example, the fiber optic cables are terminated with hardened multi-fiber optical connectors at each end.
