An arrangement for role management in relay communication is disclosed. In relay communication, one user equipment relays communication between a base station and at least one remote user equipment. Initially, the relay user equipment has a better signal to a base station. When the signal changes, a better signal channel may be achieved by switching roles between a relay user equipment and a remote user equipment. This includes detecting that a better signal exists and determining that a change would provide a better signal.

Role management in relay communication

An ARQ system for sidelink communication between transmitter and receiver, with the help of cooperative UE, or relay UE is disclosed. The relay intercepts the initial transmission from transmitter to receiver. If the relay does not intercept any ARQ feedback from the receiver (DTX), it retransmits the initial transmission. Upon receiving at least the Sidelink Control Information, SCI, identifying the retransmission, the transmitter terminates the HARQ process, assuming that the relay is now in charge of the retransmission. Upon reception of the retransmission, the receiver feeds back an HARQ ACK to the relay and the transmitter. If the receiver correctly receives the initial transmission, it feeds back an HARQ ACK to the relay and the transmitter and both relay and transmitter stop the HARQ process. If the relay does not successfully receive the initial transmission, it feds back a NACK to the transmitter which performs retransmission to the relay.

SL data transmission for unicast sidelink between user equipments

A system and method for establishing a unicast sidelink communication channel between a source user equipment (UE) and a target UE via a relay UE is described. The source UE sends a relay request message to a potential relay UE. The message includes information to configure a sidelink Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process with feedback enabled. The information also indicates no transport block for HARQ transmissions to the target UE and enables the relay UE to send a sidelink unicast message to the target UE using the source UE's identifier. The relay UE sends a sidelink message without a transport block to the target UE using the configured common HARQ process and resources and subsequently sends a response message to the source UE indicating an outcome of the HARQ process.

Terminal node to terminal node communication

A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for joint management of resources of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. In one example implementation, the method may include notifying, by a first user equipment (UE), one or more second user equipments (UEs) about a first group of resources selected for sidelink communications. The first user equipment (UE) and the one or more second user equipments (UEs) belong to a group of user equipments (UEs) with the first user equipment (UE) as a lead user equipment (UE) of the group of user equipments (UEs). The example method may further include receiving, by the first user equipment (UE), feedback from the one or more second user equipments (UEs); and determining, by the first user equipment, a second group of resources for sidelink communications of the group of user equipments (UEs), the second group of resources being determined based at least on the feedback received from the one or more second user equipments (UEs).

Coordination of sidelink mode-2 resource reservation for V2X communications

For a UE in a wireless network and able to communicate via sidelink communications with other UE(s), the UE determines whether a specific condition exists indicating the UE has limited availability of CG resources used to communicate for the sidelink communications. The UE sends, using the sidelink communications, a message indicating the limited availability of the CG resources toward the other UE(s). Another UE receives the message indicating a limited availability of CG resources for the UE, and prepares an application in the other UE for a less sensitive mode of operation having less QoS than a mode having a normal QoS. A base station can configure the UE with the CG resources and provide a set of parameters to the UE to be used to form the message for the user equipment to transmit to the other UE(s) using sidelink communications.

Sidelink advanced notification

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of a proactive switch of vehicle-to-everything communication from a device-to-device connection to a connection routed by one or more network devices. In example embodiments, a first terminal device receives, from a second terminal device via a device-to-device connection, an indication of a decision to switch the device-to-device connection to a connection routed by at least one network device for communication with the second terminal device. Based on the received indication from the second terminal device, the first terminal device then determines proactive switching from the device-to-device connection to the routed connection to be performed. The first terminal device then sends a request to a first network device of the at least one network device to set up the routed connection, the request indicating a cause for the determined proactive switching.

Proactive switching of V2X communication from sidelink connection to cellular connection

There are provided measures for enabling/realizing flexible and adaptive QoS monitoring for unicast/groupcast over sidelink communication, which may preferably be capable of enhancing support of unicast/groupcast services over sidelink communication. Such measures exemplarily comprise obtaining a request for QoS monitoring for unicast/groupcast over sidelink communication with a specified quality-of-service profile, which indicates at least one target QoS metric to be monitored, determining a QoS monitoring procedure, wherein a scheme for enforcing QoS monitoring over sidelink communication in collaboration with at least one unicast/groupcast receiving-side device is decided, and performing the QoS monitoring procedure, wherein QoS monitoring messages are exchanged with the at least one unicast/groupcast receiving-side device over the sidelink communication with the specified QoS profile in accordance with the decided scheme and the at least one target quality-of-service metric is derived based thereon.

QoS monitoring for unicast/ groupcast over sidelink communication

The present invention provides apparatuses, methods, systems, computer programs, computer program products and computer-readable media for reducing overhead for Quality-of-service (QoS) monitoring of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) services. The method comprises receiving, at a user equipment, from a serving network, a request for a Quality-of-Service (QoS) monitoring session, making a first determination, at the user equipment, whether the user equipment is relevant for the request, based on the content of the request, making a second determination, at the user equipment, if it is determined in the first determination that the user equipment is relevant, whether the request is received in dedicated signaling or common signaling, deciding, at the user equipment, whether or not to initiate the requested QoS monitoring session based on the second determination.

Reducing overhead for QoS monitoring of V2X services

There are disclosed techniques for puncturing and/or overlaying transmission in case of necessity of on-demand (e.g., urgent) commutations. In particular, transceivers, user equipments, systems, methods and non-transitory storage units are disclosed. For example, there is disclosed a transceiver of a wireless communication network, wherein the transceiver is configured to operate in a puncturing mode by puncturing a downlink, DL, transmission of payload information in a channel originally allocated to the DL transmission of payload information, to obtain, within the originally allocated channel for the DL transmission of payload information, a DL free area for an uplink, UL, transmission of a user equipment, UE, of the wireless communication network.

Punctured information for flexible/full duplex communication

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for logical channel selection for non-discontinuous reception (non-DRX) enabled devices. A method may include determining a sidelink discontinuous reception state of at least one receiving user equipment. The method may also include examining one or more conditions associated with the at least one receiving user equipment. The method may further include selecting at least one sidelink destination related to a logical channel among the at least one receiving user equipment based on the determined sidelink discontinuous reception state and the examination.

Logical channel selection for non-discontinuous reception enabled devices

A communication apparatus for facilitating setting up of a network slice for service provision in a time division duplex system includes a receiver configured to receive a request for a network slice for at least one service.
