A wind deflector for an openable vehicle roof having a displaceable lid element, the wind deflector having a deployable deflector element made of a flat, flexible material and a pivotable deploying bow, the lower edge of the deflector element being mounted on a vehicle-mounted base via a lower edge strip and the upper edge of the deflector element being mounted on a pivotable deploying bow. The vehicle-mounted base has a supporting portion on which a fastening strip is mounted. Across its length, the lower edge strip has a uniform cross section having a hook geometry which interacts with the fastening strip.

A wind deflector for an openable vehicle roof having a displaceable cover element, the wind deflector may have a deployable deflector element which is made of a planar flexible material and forms a windward surface, the deflector element being attached to a pivotable deploying bow at its upper edge area and to a vehicle-attached base at its lower edge area and comprising a warp-knitted fabric having meshes. The warp-knitted fabric is a one-piece warp-knitted fabric. The windward surface is a curved surface whose curvature is defined by the interknitted meshes of the warp-knitted fabric.

A wind deflector for a vehicle roof having a displaceable cover element. The wind deflector can have an unfoldable deflector element made of a flat flexible material and whose lower edge portion can be fastened to a vehicle-mounted base via a lower edge strip and whose upper edge portion is fastened to a pivotable deploying bow via an upper edge strip. The lower edge strip and the vehicle-mounted base and/or the upper edge strip and the deploying bow can form a respective fastening system. The fastening system may have a fixing rib on one side and an arrangement of tabs attached to the fixing rib on the other side, the arrangement of tabs being formed by locking tabs and support tabs alternating along the fixing rib, the locking tabs and the support tabs being in contact with the fixing rib on sides facing away from each other.

A wind deflector for a vehicle roof which may be opened, having a displaceable cover element, comprising a stretchable deflector element made from a flat, flexible material and which with its lower edge region is fastened to a fixed roof portion via a lower edge strip and with its upper edge region is fastened to a pivotable extending clip via an upper edge strip. The upper edge strip and the lower edge strip are components of a peripheral plastics edge encapsulation of the deflector element.
