In accordance with the present invention a radiation image storage panel comprises a self-supporting or supported layer of storage phosphor particles dispersed in a binding medium and, adjacent thereto, a protective coating characterized in that, besides a binder, the said protective coating comprises a white pigment having a refractive index of more than 1.6, which is present in the said binder, preferably further comprising a urethane acrylate, and wherein said protective coating has a surface roughness (Rz) between 2 and 10 &mgr;m.

Radiation image storage panel

A method for exposing a radiation sensitive material is disclosed comprising a double-sided laser exposure of the same information in register on both sides. In a preferred embodiment this material is a thermal imaging medium comprising a support, an image forming layer preferably containing carbon black, a release layer and an adhesive layer. By laser exposing this medium in register on both sides a heat mode image can be obtained after lamination and delamination which shows practically no pinhole defects.

Method for use formation of an improved image

The present invention provides a heat recording material comprising on a support in the order given a porous layer of an image forming substance, a substance capable of converting radiation into heat, a thermoplastic layer containing a photocurable composition and a stripping layer. The present invention further provides a method for obtaining an image with such an heat recording material. Images of high quality and good wear and scratch resistance are obtained.

Heat-sensitive recording material and method for obtaining an image

A recording material suited for forming a direct-read-after-write image by laser beam radiation, which recording material contains in a recording layer a naphthoquinonimine dye either or not in admixture with a hydrophobic polymer, characterized in that said naphthoquinonimine dye is present in the recording layer in microcrystalline state having a particle size in the range of 0.01 to 0.1 micron hereby showing an absorption maximum situated in the 800 to 880 nm wavelength range, the weight ratio of said dye to said polymer being in the range from 1/99 to 100/0.
