Phenoxyalkylaminepyridyl ethers of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is methyl, methoxy, or chlorine; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl, alkoxy containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, nitro, amino, halogen, cyano, or a residue of the formula ##STR2## N IS 2 OR 3, AND THEIR PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACCEPTABLE ACID ADDITION SALTS. These compounds are useful for lowering blood pressure.

The present invention relates to 4' amino-4' desoxy-oleandrins of the following formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be the same or different and represent hydrogen or a lower alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together with the nitrogen atom form a pyrrolidino, piperidino, or morpholino radical; as well as the physiologically compatible acid addition salts thereof.
