An endoscopy system has an endo-robot that is navigable within an anatomical lumen of a patient by interacting with a magnetic field generated by an extracorporeal magnet system. The patient lies on a patient bed that is movable in one or more directions and/or orientations, and an obstacle detects objects in the movement path of the endo-robot in the anatomical lumen and produces a signal that causes the position and/or orientation of the patient bed to be altered dependent thereon.

A linear drive including a stator and a rotor configured for linear reciprocal movement along an axis, with the stator having a magnetic-field guide core having a plurality of legs extending each with one foot substantially toward the rotor, with the rotor having a plurality of magnets disposed in a linear array along the direction of the axis, wherein at least one of a respective one of respective lengths of the magnets along the axis and the respective widths of the legs along the axis and the respective spacings of the legs along the axis are different such that force components of the magnets along the axis will substantially compensate each other when the linear drive is in a de-energized state.

A magnetic body is displaceable in a contact-free manner in a working chamber by the use of a magnetic coil system composed of fourteen individually controllable coils. Three magnetic field components and five magnetic field gradients are produced. Apart from two individual coils in the coil system, the other coils, which may be saddle-shaped coils, are arranged on lateral tubular surfaces surrounding the working chamber.

A magnet contains a magnetic yoke and two pole shoes, between which a magnetic field of great homogeneity is formed. The pole shoes are provided with special pole plates. At least one pole plate (11d) is separated from a base part (11b) facing the yoke by a narrow correction air gap (15), and can be aligned by means of mechanical setting devices. According to the invention, each pole shoe (11) has a bead-like edge piece (11c) for field correction at its edge area (17b), which surrounds an inner pole shoe area (17a). In this region, the pole plate (11d), which can be aligned laterally separated from the edge piece (21).
