A device for generating flue gas for driving a gas turbine includes a stack in a closed hollow cylindrical housing having a stack wall spaced from the housing. One of the ends of the stack has a combustion chamber, a closure element, as well as an inlet opening for combustion air discharging into the combustion chamber and a supply opening for fine grained coal together forming a pulverized coal burner. The inlet opening generates a spin of the combustion air in a given rotational direction. A first auxiliary inlet for combustion air discharges in the combustion chamber. A second auxiliary inlet for fine grained coal is disposed in the stack wall and discharges into the combustion chamber at a distance from the closure element. A flue gas outlet connector is disposed in and spaced from an air inlet connector of the housing at the other end of the stack. An air nozzle is disposed in the stack wall at a distance from the first auxiliary inlet and discharges tangentially into the stack creating a spin in supplied air having the given rotational direction and ending in the stack in a direction toward the lower end of the stack. A helically shaped guide plate for flue gas is disposed on the stack wall inside the stack between the first auxiliary inlet and the air nozzle. The guide plate imparts a spin to the flue gas having the given rotational direction. The stack wall has a step formed therein defining a change in cross section of the stack and having an outlet opening for ash disposed therein.

A combustion chamber with a fluidized bed furnace having a nozzle plate, a fuel feed above the nozzle plate, a primary air feed below the nozzle plate, an exhaust gas channel at an upper end of the combustion chamber, and heat-exchanging heating surfaces includes a cylindrical combustion chamber wall disposed vertically upright and having, in an upper region thereof, a plurality of secondary air nozzles disposed tangentially as well as downwardly inclined to the cylindrical wall for separating and returning unspent solid particles into a lower region of the fluidized bed, a device for directing a flow of gas and particles vertically upwardly in a central region of the combustion chamber and spirally downwardly along the cylindrical wall, and a device for impressing an upwardly increasing rotary flow about an axis of symmetry of the combustion chamber upon the gas flow.

In a tornado-flow vortex generator for separating particulates from gases, having a cylindrical vortex chamber, an inlet tube for raw gas coaxially disposed in the vortex chamber and terminating in a nozzle for providing an advance rotation in a flow of the raw gas therethrough, a hopper diaphragm surrounding the inlet tube and formed, in vicinity of the vortex-chamber casing, with an annular particulate-discharge slot communicating with a space within a hopper, a clean-gas outlet disposed in the vortex chamber spaced from and opposite the raw-gas inlet tube, an auxiliary-gas outlet surrounding the clean-gas outlet, and an auxiliary-gas inlet disposed at the vortex-chamber casing for blowing auxiliary gas into the vortex chamber at an inclination and tangentially to the casing thereof and connected by a blower to the auxiliary-gas outlet, the improvement includes a line having valve means and connecting the hopper space with a location of the vortex generator at which a pressure exists which is lower than the pressure in the hopper space.

An arrangement for improved energy recovery in the pure gas outlet of a centrifugal separator which includes a cylindrical centrifugal chamber with a coaxial raw gas inlet at one end and a coaxial pure gas outlet at the other end and which is equipped with tangential auxiliary gas inlets in the region of the periphery of the centrifugal chamber inclined at an angle with respect to the raw gas outlet with a particle outlet concentrically surrounding the raw gas inlet, in which the pure gas outlet is conically flared and opens with its larger end into a cylindrical, closed ring chamber which includes a cover plate opposite the open outlet tube. A radially extending plate of a diameter smaller than that of the cylindrical ring chamber is attached to the larger, open end of the conical outlet tube and an aerodynamic body in the shape of a circular cone protrudes from the cover plate into the opened conical outlet tube.
