In a contact apparatus (4) for providing an electrical contact (1) between two flatly overlapping, current carrying conductor elements, particularly in the form of conducting bars and flat plates, the contact apparatus (4) being positioned and compressed between the conductive elements, and at least one resiliently compressible contact element along with at least one support element located adjacent the contact element for the purpose of limiting the compression of the at least one contact element, the at least one contact element and the at least one support element, in order to attain a flexible match to variable connector geometries, are shaped as separate contact modules (5a-d) and support modules (6a-d) which may be combined together.

Contact apparatus

A current bar arrangement includes a flat, two-wire, flexible cable (2) provided with a rubber-like insulation (2.3). The cable has a plurality of holes (2.4) stamped in the insulation at a mutual distance between the two wires (2.1, 2.2). The two wires are laid bare in each case for a short distance. The current bar arrangement also has a cable channel (1) substantially form-stable in the lengthwise direction and substantially U-shaped in profile for receiving and holding the cable. The current bar arrangement is very versatile and variable in use, but especially in low-voltage halogen lighting systems. It is distinguished by an especially simple technical construction and, associated with this, by a very low production cost.

Current bar arrangement

An electric contact arrangement for a multi-strand cable having at least one connection position for receiving a contact plug, comprises a plurality of spaced openings extending through the cable insolation and defining the connection position, and a respective plurality of plug contacts received in the openings. Each contact comprises a contact element that in engaged position thereof makes electrical contact with a cable strand intersecting the end zone of a respective opening.

Electric contact arrangement for a multi-strand cable

The contact apparatus has at least two contact bodies and at least one segmented body. The latter possesses bars separated from each other by slots and having a curved central area. Furthermore, the bars have the form of a three-dimensional curve. In their end areas, the bars possess in each case a section curved in the opposite sense to said curved central area. Besides, the bars are linked together at their ends by means of edge strips. Moreover, the slots extend up to the curved section. In this way, points of contact clearly defined as regards their position and values are assigned to the convexity as well as the end areas of each bar. These measures lead to an improvement of the mechanical and electrical characteristics of the contact apparatus.

Electric contact apparatus

An electric contact device for an electrical connection of electroconductive connectors comprises a row of interconnected contact elements which are joined together by at least one continuous band-shaped or wire-shaped spring element. Each contact element is provided with at least one opening through which the spring element extends. The opening provides for fixing of the contact element which, in an unstressed condition, extends at an angle maximum 45.degree. relative to the plane of the spring element. Under the contact pressure, the spring element is deformed and takes a wave form, thus, producing a resilient force. This permits to assemble the device with larger tolerances for spacing between the contact elements. Preferably, the edges of the contact elements have a high electric conductivity.

Electric contact device

An electric terminal, especially for a circuit board, e.g. of the breadboarding type for use in experimental circuit design, is formed with an annular groove with inner and outer walls and an annular spring element braced against one of these walls and engageable with a conductor inserted into the groove to mechanically retain the same and, at the same time, form an electrical connection therewith and with other conductors inserted into the groove. Preferably an array of such terminals is provided in respective recesses of an electrically insulating board.

Electric terminal and assembly containing same

An electrical connector has two members whose surfaces are electrically bridged by means of a conductive strip with a multiplicity of substantially parallel lamellae bent from and integral with the strip. The interstices between the lamellae are filled with an elastic material in order to resiliently resist deformation of the lamellae and maintain at least the contact edges of the lamellae metallically bright.

Electrical connector

A battery terminal is provided with a connector pin over which is engaged a sleeve formed of berrylium-bronze and mounted via deformable lugs on the end of a conductor cable. The sleeve is provided internally with a contact band comprising a pair of corrugated side portions between which extend a plurality of tongues extending transverse to these side portions so that these tongues are compressed between the outside of the pin and the inside of the sleeve, thereby forming a good electrical connection. The outside of the sleeve is provided with a synthetic-resin insulating layer and the end thereof may be closed or opened.
