A method for filling a cylinder/piston unit () for a needle-free injector comprising a chamber () arranged in a cylinder (), for receiving an injection solution (), a front wall () having at least one nozzle borehole or an outlet element (), and a second piston () arranged to move in the chamber. The chamber () is made in two parts with a first chamber () and a concentric second chamber () having a smaller cross section than the first chamber. A first piston () closes the first chamber () and the second piston closes the second chamber (). The second piston comprises at least one flow channel () or the first chamber comprises at least one closable, axially oriented freeze-drying channel (), and the second chamber () comprises at least one axially oriented flow channel (), on the respective rear ends of the chambers ().

Dual-chamber cylinder-piston unit for the lyophilisation, storage, reconstitution and application of injection solutions for an injector, and method for filling the cylinder-piston unit

A cylinder-piston unit of a needle-free injector, with at least one cylinder accommodating an injection solution, at least one piston, and an adhesive coating arranged in the area of the free end face of the cylinder. The cylinder has a bottom portion, on which a discharge tube is arranged. An adhesive disc, which is displaceable in the direction of the center line of the cylinder-piston unit between an installation position and an application position, is arranged on the discharge tube and/or on the bottom portion. The adhesive disc has an adhesive coating on each of the two end faces. In the installation position, the discharge tube can be sealed off in the adhesive disc. In the application position, the front edge of the discharge nozzle lies in the plane of the front adhesive coating or protrudes beyond this plane by at least 0.5 mm. A needle-free cylinder-piston unit of an injector whose discharge system is suitable for safely penetrating the outer layers of skin, covered by the term 'dermis', in order to convey the injection solution into or under the skin.

A cylinder-piston unit, with at least one cylinder accommodating an injection solution and having an outlet opening, and with at least one piston. The cylinder, or a component mounted upstream of the cylinder, has an end face from which, during correct emptying of the cylinder-piston unit, a short cannula protrudes, which has an outlet opening at its free end. The outlet opening has a surface with a border which has a point near the bottom or an edge near the bottom. The point near the bottom or the edge near the bottom lies 0.15-0.3 mm away from the end face or the front-most point or edge thereof. A cylinder-piston unit is developed which is intended for a disposable injector and which is suitable for virtually painless penetration of the human skin, among other reasons for the administration of highly viscous injection solutions.

A disposable injector with a cylinder/piston unit that can be filled at least temporarily with active substance, with a housing in which a pretensioned and releasable mechanical spring energy reservoir is arranged, and with at least one piston-actuating ram positioned between the spring energy reservoir and the piston of the cylinder/piston unit. The piston-actuating ram has two draw hooks that engage around the housing in some areas. In addition, the piston-actuating ram is separable from the housing by the relaxing spring energy reservoir. With the present invention, a disposable injector is developed which, with a small overall size, comprises only a small number of components and, while being easy to handle, ensures safe storage and operation.

On its end face directed away from the bottom portion, the adhesive disc has an adhesive coating. In the storage position, the adhesive disc has at least one sealing element or a sealing area for closing the discharge tube, the effect of which sealing element or sealing area is no longer present in the application position.

The piston is composed of a drive body and of a sealing body. The sealing body is at least one elastic disc, which bears under a radial clamping action against the inner wall of the cylinder. The drive body is a pot-shaped body with a peripheral elastic skirt. At least one area of the skirt bears under a radial clamping action against the inner wall of the cylinder. The cylinder chamber areas located in front of and behind the drive body communicate with each other via at least one recess. The drive body is arranged behind the sealing body in the cylinder, and the skirt faces towards the sealing body.

A pressure-stable cylinder/piston unit which blocks water vapor and oxygen and is designed for a needle-free injector, with a chamber arranged in a cylinder, which blocks water vapor and oxygen, and designed for long-term and sterile storage of an injection solution, an end wall with at least one nozzle bore or one outlet element, a pressure-stable outer cylinder, and a pressure-stable piston arranged movably in the chamber and blocking water vapor and oxygen. Methods for bubble-free, automatic or manual filling of the cylinder/piston unit, also at atmospheric pressure are also disclosed.

The invention relates to a method and a device for the sterile filling of a disposable injector with a defined dose of an injection solution, wherein the disposable injector comprises a cylinder/piston unit with a cylinder and with a piston that can be pulled back manually. The defined dose of the injection solution is stored in an interior of a container of a needle syringe held in a bored stopper. The cylinder interior is connected to the container interior in a gas-tight and liquid-tight manner through the bored stopper. The cylinder/piston unit is filled by pulling back the piston or by pressing the needle syringe piston. With the present invention, a method and a device for filling a disposable injector are developed in which, without intermediate weighing or risk of inaccurate readings, the disposable injector can be filled with a defined dose of an injection solution from a syringe with a fused-in needle.

The end face of a cylinder-piston unit has a press-in area, engaging around the mouth, and a press-on area, surrounding the press-in area. The press-in area comprises an inner web, delimiting the mouth, and an outer web. The webs delimit a recess, which surrounds the inner web and of which the depth measured parallel to the center axis of the cylinder-piston unit is at least a quarter of its width in a plane oriented normal thereto. The press-on area, at least during an injection, is offset counter to the injection direction relative to the end face of the press-in area. Moreover, the surface of the press-on area projected into a plane normal to the center axis is at least as large as the surface of the press-in area projected into the same plane.

Cylinder-piston unit of a disposable injector having increased operational safety

The invention relates to a single-use injector () and a dual-chamber system (), wherein at least one first chamber () is part of a cylinder-piston unit () that can be received in the single-use injector, and wherein the second chamber () is part of a container () that can be at least temporarily closed by means of a stopper () and that is inserted in a container adapter () releaseably supported on the single-use injector. To this end, the plug comprises a plug hole. The container adapter comprises a transfer tube that is closed at first. When the container is inserted in the container adapter, the transfer tube () connects the interior of the cylinder-piston unit to the interior of the container.
