Operating a medical image recording device in the context of an image recording routine for a patient is provided. The image recording routine serves an image recording purpose. The image recording device is controlled based on operating parameters implemented by a controller of the image recording device. The operating parameters are identified completely automatically by an identification algorithm from input data describing at least the patient in the form of a patient model and/or the image recording purpose, and from a registration of the patient with a coordinates system of the image recording device. The operating parameters are used to control the image recording device. An examination region that is to be recorded for the patient and the image recording purpose are derived based on the registration.

Operating a medical image recording device

An X-ray projection of a region of examination and an associated X-ray parameter are received via an interface, the X-ray projection including X-ray intensities in a first pixel set. The X-ray parameter relates to at least one X-ray voltage from an X-ray source. Scattered radiation intensity is determined in a second pixel set, the second pixel set being a subset of the first pixel set. A first calculation of first exposure parameters in the second pixel set then occurs, each of the first exposure parameters in a pixel of the second pixel set being based on the X-ray intensity in the pixel and the scattered radiation intensity in the pixel. Furthermore, a second calculation of a scalar second exposure parameter occurs based on the first exposure parameters and an adjustment of the X-ray parameter is performed by comparing the scalar second exposure parameter with a reference value.

An interventional roadmap method with optimization of the mask face is proposed. At least two empty images and at least two fill images are recorded in a mask phase A with a matrix-type array of pixels and stored. The empty and fill images are processed such that the gray values of each pixel of the x-ray images from mask phase A are arranged in ascending order. A mask image is computed from the processed empty and fill images such that the smallest gray values are averaged and from which the mask image will be formed. At least one current x-ray image is recorded and subtracted from the mask image to create roadmap images.

Interventional roadmap method with optimization of the mask phase

An apparatus for assisting with positioning of an implant on a specific point in a vessel of a patient is proposed. A first interventional instrument is inserted in a region of the specific point. A series of 2D x-ray recordings of the vessel with the first instrument are obtained by adjusting an x-ray device. Based on markers of the first instrument mapped in the 2D x-ray recordings, at least two reference lines are defined restricting the specific point. A second interventional instrument is inserted in the region of the specific point. Fluoroscopy images of the vessel with the second instrument are obtained by adjusting the x-ray device. The reference lines in the fluoroscopy images are superimposed as localization aid. The specific point in the vessel can also be restricted by a reference region as a localization aid defined based on x-ray recordings of the specific point obtained using contrast agent.
