A roll stand with at least one pair of rolls mounted in a stand column and drive shafts, particularly cardan shafts, for the rotary drive of the rolls. A coupling for coupling the drive shafts to the rolls. Axial roll displacement is based on a drive shaft which has an actuating arrangement. Further, a method for axial roll displacement is disclosed.

For many applications pressure-medium cylinders have to achieve high adjusting forces which often impairs the dynamics of such cylinders due to the large piston cross sections and cylinder volumes, and/or pressure medium has to be supplied at very high pressure. The present invention shows a pressure-medium cylinder which has short reaction times, high adjusting forces and small overall sizes, which is achieved in that two cylindersare arranged in the pressure-medium cylinder, which cylinders can be activated independently of one another.

Device for vertically displacing a roll running on bearings in a roll stand

A description is given of a bending device for two working rolls (1) of a roll stand having guide blocks (6), provided in lateral roll uprights (3), for each of two vertically adjustable pressure transmission elements (4a, 4b), on which the working rolls (1) are supported via inserts (2), and each having two bending cylinders (5), which are arranged between the pressure transmission elements (4a, 4b) and have a piston rod (12) which acts on a pressure transmission elements (4b, 4a), and a cylinder (10) formed by the respective other pressure transmission element (4b, 4a). In order to provide advantageous design conditions, it is proposed that the L-shaped pressure transmission elements (4a, 4b) have a longer, vertical and a shorter, horizontal limb (8, 9), that the limbs (8, 9) of the pressure transmission elements (4a, 4b) be located opposite each other in pairs in a plane parallel to the working rolls (1), and that the longer limbs (8) of the pressure transmission elements (4a, 4b) be mounted in vertical guides (7) in the respective guide block (6) and accommodate a cylinder (10) of the bending cylinders (5), whose piston rods (12) act on the shorter limbs (9) of the respective other pressure transmission element (4b, 4a).

Bending device for two working rolls of a roll stand

A coiler comprises an expanding core comprising a tubular coiler shaft and an expanding mechanism, which is accommodated in the tubular coiler shaft and operable to extend heatable extensible segments. Heat insulating material and cooling means are provided between the heatable part of the expanding core and the coiler shaft. In order to restrict the dissipation of heat. Pressure applying tubes having axes which are radial with respect to the coiler shaft are provided between the expanding mechanism and the extensible segments. The wall thickness of said pressure applying tubes increases toward the extensible segments. Cooling means are provided between the pressure applying tubes and the expanding mechanism.

Coiler

A knife support is part of the apparatus, and with a knife it passes by at the edge of the work piece which is to be deburred. The edge of the knife corresponds in its length at least to the length of the edge to be deburred. In order to be able to shear both the front end and the rear end of slabs with one and the same construction in a simple and sturdy way, the knife support is provided as a rocker arm which can be moved with a pivot drive. The swivel axis of the rocker arm can be directed about parallel to the edge of the work piece to be deburred.
