A blade includes an airfoil and a root having diverging walls. The diverging walls are made of a ceramic matrix composite material. A reinforcement element is provided between the diverging walls.

Blade

The invention refers to a blade of a rotary flow machine including an airfoil having a suction surface and a pressure surface joining each other along a trailing and a leading edge. A radially outward directed airfoil tip and a radially inward directed end joining an inner platform connect the airfoil to a shank at a radial end of the airfoil and providing, at least one shank pocket radially encircled by an axially extending portion of the platform. At least one radially extending rim extends from the trailing edge side of the shank and has an essentially radially orientated first slot for receiving a seal. A mount extends radially inwardly from said shank pocket. The first slot has a first aperture on a shank surface orientated in an axial direction.

A rotating element for a rotating machine, in particular for a turbine machine, is provided with a vibration damper for vibrations of the rotating element during operation of the machine. The vibration damper includes a closed cavity in the body of the rotating element. In the closed cavity there is located a movable solid damping body as well as a damping medium. The damping medium is based on a metal which is in liquid state at the operation temperature where damping is desired. It furthermore relates to turbo machines equipped with such rotating elements as well as to uses of liquid metal for such vibration dampers.

A cooled component, such as a turbine blade for gas turbines is provided, having efficient internal cooling, with an interior cooling passageway having a round cross-section. A row of feeding holes for the coolant are arranged spaced from each other in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the cooling passageway and originating from a common coolant channel. Each of the feeding holes intersects the cooling passageway tangentially. The ease of manufacturing the cooling component is improved in that the majority of the feeding holes have a hole diameter that is smaller than half of the hydraulic diameter of the cooling passageway, and selected feeding holes have a hole diameter that is greater than half of the hydraulic diameter of the cooling channel.

A component of a fluid-flow machine including a flow-deflecting device which is connected in a root region to a platform, the penetration of the flow-deflecting device with the platform being provided by a pressure-side profile line, a suction-side profile line, and a leading edge base point and a trailing edge base point, and the top view of the platform essentially exhibiting the shape of a parallelogram on which there is arranged a nose running in the circumferential direction, wherein a long side of the parallelogram is arranged as a tangent to the suction-side profile line.
