A pressure supply between a variator shaft and a pressure chamber () for the axial displacement of the mobile disc of a pair of conic pulleys of a continuously adjustable automatic transmission, which includes a longitudinal borehole () and radial boreholes () in a variator shaft (), as well as a radial borehole () in the locating disc. For each pressure chamber () there are at least two piercing radial boreholes made in the variator shaft, which are axially shifted from each other and rotated approximately 90&#xb0; between themselves. The oil can run over the longitudinal borehole of the variator shaft and over the radial boreholes through the radial borehole in a locating disc of a pressure chamber (), in such a way that the oil flow is always ensured regardless of the axial position or of the tangential location of the locating disc regarding the variator shaft.

A reversing gearset of a continuously variable transmission, in particular a continuously variable belt transmission has a drive input shaft (), a primary shaft (), a simple planetary gearset with a sun gear (), a web () for the planetary gears () and an annular gear () and two shift elements () for shifting to the forward or the reverse directions. The transmission ratio of the reversing gearset (), in the reverse direction, is greater than one (i.e., it is a speed-drop ratio), such that in the forward direction, the transmission ratio of the reversing gearset () is equal to one.

A variator for ratio adjustment of a continuously variable chain drive transmission having one variator shaft () and one variator pulley () supported upon the variator shaft () and axially movable by pressurizing a variator pressure chamber (). The variator shaft () has on one end an axial hole () through which the variator pressure chamber () and a second pressure chamber () can be loaded with pressure independent of each other. The pressure is supplied to the variator pressure chamber () via a first section () of the axial hole () and the pressure is supplied to the second pressure chamber () via a non-rotating pipe () and a second section () of the axial hole (), the pipe () is situated within the first hole section (). It is proposed that the pipe () has two axially adjacently disposed sealing rings () for reciprocal dynamic sealing of the pressure supplies to the variator pressure chamber () and to the second pressure chamber () and that the variator shaft () has a vent hole () discharging, on one side between the two sealing rings () and on the other side in a transmission inner space ().
