Transformer

A dry-type transformer core has an iron core with a number of limbs designed to be wrapped with a winding and interconnected by a number of magnetic yokes. The object is to produce a transformer of this type in a simple manner, which is especially well protected against corrosion. For that purpose, the dry-type transformer core includes a casing that is formed onto the iron core. The casing surrounds the iron core in a substantially flush manner.

A winding includes a wound electrical conductor having an electrical insulator. A method is also provided for producing a winding. The winding can be produced as a single piece by using a support on which the electrical conductor can be disposed and electrically insulated. The support is particularly implemented in the form of a cylindrical spiral as a coil, and thereby allows practically unlimited single-piece production of the winding. The cross section and/or the width of the electrical conductor can simultaneously be varied by location on the support.

Winding and method for producing a winding

An electrical winding body includes an electrically conductive winding and an insulation surrounding the winding. The surrounding insulation surrounds the entire winding and forms a mechanically stable winding body. At least one continuous channel having an opening in the electrical winding body is disposed inside the winding body. An extension element is placed in the openings of the continuous channels to elongate the channels beyond the dimensions of the electrical winding body, thus providing for improved cooling. Side elements are additionally attached on the outer wall of the electrical winding body to create an intermediate space which forms a new cooling channel that produces an additional cooling effect due to an air current created by the chimney effect.

A transformer, in particular an entirely cast resin transformer, includes at least one lower voltage winding and at least one upper voltage winding. The application of an electrical shielding around the upper voltage winding makes it possible to prevent a voltage disruptive discharge in such a way that the outer wall of the transformer can be touched by a person and also provides the transformer with electromagnetic shielding. The transformer is provided with bushings for internal electric connections and for that reason, it can be placed in media affected by dirty surroundings and in open air.
