An apparatus and a method for singling value documents involve a feeding device adapted to feed a respectively uppermost value document of a stack of value documents to a picking device adapted to pick the value document from the stack. A conveying device is adapted to receive the stack and to convey it relative to the feeding device. A distance sensor is adapted to detect at least one distance of the respectively uppermost value document of the stack received by the conveying device relative to the feeding device and generate at least one corresponding distance sensor signal. A control device is adapted to control the conveying of the stack relative to the feeding device and the location of the feeding device relative to the stack based on the distance sensor signal.

Device and method for separating value documents, in particular banknotes, and value document processing system

A system and a corresponding method for processing and packaging value documents having a processing apparatus, which is adapted to process, value documents, at least one bundling device, which is adapted to bundle processed value documents in packets and/or to bundle one or several packets. A packaging apparatus and a transport device adapted to feed one or several packets and/or bundles to the packaging apparatus. At least one storage device, which is adapted to receive one or several packets and/or bundles, and a control device, which is adapted to control the at least one storage device such that the one or several packets and/or bundles are temporarily stored in the storage device for as long as the transport device and/or the packaging apparatus cannot receive any further packets and/or bundles.

System and method for processing and packaging documents of value, in particular banknotes

The invention concerns the processing of value documents of different deposits using a value-document processing apparatus. Upon insertion of the value documents into the containers with which they are fed to the value-document processing apparatus, a beginning position and, where applicable, also an end position of the respective deposit is established for each deposit and transmitted to the value-document processing apparatus. Even in the case of different deposits in the same container, the invention enables an error-free association of the checked value documents with the different deposits. When a deposit comprises two separate sub-stacks that were inserted in the same or different containers, said sub-stacks of the contemplated deposit can be brought to account jointly and a joint rejects processing of the sub-stacks of the same deposit carried out.

Method and system for handling value documents

A method for monitoring transport of bank notes in a transport system, using sensors arranged along the transport system for sensing transported bank notes, and a control device for monitoring and controlling the transport system using signals from the sensors, from which the control device derives a presence or absence of a bank note at the location of the respective sensor. The signals from all sensors are stored in a memory, and the signals from all sensors are assigned an explicit time statement or clock statement. All transported bank notes are assigned an explicit object code by the control device, and the object code is linked to the explicit time statement or clock statement. Stored signals from the sensors derive the occurrence and type of errors during the transport of the bank notes, and the signals are linked to the bank notes denoted by the object codes.

Method for monitoring the transport of bank notes

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing sheet material, in particular papers of value such as bank notes, checks, etc. The present invention starts out from the consideration that the validity of a successful check of sheet material is still present unchanged after an operating disturbance. The result of a check of sheet material which was performed successfully before a disturbance is therefore retained when a disturbance is present or after the disturbance has been eliminated.

Method and apparatus for processing sheet material

An apparatus for processing sheet material includes a transport device for transporting single sheets of the sheet material. The transport device includes a diverting device for diverting the transport direction of the single sheets having one or more opposite first and second diverting elements between which the sheets are transported through for diversion. One of the diverting elements has a roughened surface with depressions of at least 1 mm. The apparatus further includes a smoothing device arranged so as to pull apart the sheet material in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction immediately before diversion in the diverting device.
