A firearm and an assembly for use in the same are disclosed. The assembly comprises a cylinder having a longitudinal axis. The cylinder defines a plurality of bullet wells and is structured to rotate around the longitudinal axis in response to a shot. The assembly also includes an impact base positioned behind the cylinder to support bullets within the bullet wells. The impact base is rotatable about the longitudinal axis with the cylinder in response to the shot.

Revolver

A housing for use with a firearm is provided. The housing includes a first housing section sized for receiving a barrel, and a second housing section coupled proximally to the first housing section for receiving a breechblock mechanism. The first housing section has a top external surface. The second housing section has a forward portion which is offset from the first housing section and which includes a forward surface defining an opening sized for receiving a connecting element operatively connecting a lever disposed adjacent the top external surface outside the first housing section and the breechblock within the second housing section. The connecting element moves perpendicularly to the opening and not, as in prior art housings, along it, so that the previously required longitudinal slit, which severely weakened the structure of prior art housings, is avoided.

Housing for a firearm

A multipurpose weapon having a self-loading large-caliber self-loading rifle module or section and an assault weapon module or section attached to the front portion of the large caliber rifle is provided. A first trigger assembly of the large-caliber rifle is positioned for operation by a trigger hand of the user of the weapon, while a second trigger assembly of the assault weapon module is configured for operation by the non-trigger hand of the user. Alternatively, the assault weapon section or module can be equipped with a trigger that is selectively operable to fire either the assault weapon module or the large-caliber rifle module. Additionally, a detachable secondary module comprising a grip module which includes a grip and a trigger can alternatively be attached to the large-caliber module.

Multipurpose weapon

An automatic combination rifle with a large caliber automatic rifle system and a normal caliber automatic rifle system that include respective triggering arrangements which are connected with a single, movable trigger lever with the use of an activated change-over mechanism. Each triggering arrangement comprises a movable release mechanism to control the respective trigger function. The change-over mechanism establishes a selective connection with one of the release mechanisms for cooperative movement with the trigger lever.

The invention relates to a firing pin and hammer assembly for a fire arm, especially a self-loading fire arm with a closed breech of a submachine gun, the assembly comprising a firing pin capable of being moved from a rest position at which its end is positioned in the travel path of a hammer, to a priming position; a firing pin spring for moving the firing pin into its rest position; a catch (14) capable of being moved by a catch spring engaging the firing pin while the firing pin is in its rest position, and holding the same; and a release assembly cooperating with the hammer and releasing the catch from engagement with the firing pin when the hammer approaches the end of its travel path. The object is to prevent any movement of the firing pin unless the hammer is released. According to the invention, the release assembly is permanently coupled to the hammer for preventing an untimely and excessively forceful operation of the release assembly.

A repeating shot gun, in particular a automatic shot gun, is provided with at least one barrel (29) which is rigidly attached to a plastic housing (1) when the gun is assembled, the shot gun having a coupling (3) formed either from a metal or from a material having properties similar to those of metals with respect to deformation and strength and having a barrel receiver (5) which is rigidly positioned in the housing (1), such that the barrel receiver (5) substantially coaxially surrounds the rear portion of the barrel (29) and the barrel (29) is in close-fitting engagement with the barrel receiver (5).

A rifle construction with a swing-type barrel assembly is adapted for firing both conventional cartridges and non-conventional cartridges with a longitudinally extending barrel assembly having a first barrel and a second barrel mounted in opposed relation. A breech block interposed between the barrels is adapted for sliding cooperative movement with the first or second barrels in order to expel desired cartridges depending on the mode of operation. A magazine includes a load opening and a linkless feed system which includes the following devices for manual loading with cartridges through the load opening, as well as for their automatic and sequential transport to a gun barrel. These devices include a cartridge receiving device movable manually in the load direction and automatically in the opposite, feed direction, a tensioning device engaging into the cartridge receiving device, pretensionable in the feed direction, and a device for automatic but releasable blocking of the feed system during the loading phase in the feed direction when the tensioning device is released, and/or in the loading direction when a cartridge gap appears in a cartridge receiving device behind the load opening.

The invention relates to a hand-held firearm comprising a muzzle silencer (9) and a barrel (11) which is provided with transverse bores and is surrounded by an expansion area (15) into which the transverse bores extend. The transverse bores (14) enable the muzzle velocity of the bullets to be less than Mach 1, in spite of the use of conventional ammunition, and there is consequently no supersonic boom of the bullet. To selectively eliminate the reduction in firing energy involved therein and be able to shoot with maximum firing force, the transverse bores (14) are selectively closable by a locking device (16) which is preferably in the form of a sleeve (16) which surrounds the barrel (11) and is mounted for rotation thereon and is furthermore provided with an actuating member (21) for setting the open or closed position. The actuating member may take the form of a tube section (21) surrounding the barrel (11) in spaced relationship thereto at least over part of its length and delimiting the expansion area (15), with its both ends connected with the barrel in sealed relationship and mounted on the barrel (11) for rotation. The tube section is connected with the sleeve (16) for rotation therewith (FIG. 2).

A trigger mechanism for electrically ignited weapons having a source of electric energy. Leads are provided which connect the source of energy with the electrical ignition means for a propelling charge contained in the weapon, and a normally open switch is interposed in one of said leads, which switch can be closed for igniting the ignition means by pulling the trigger. The source of energy comprises a piezoelectric body and a capacitor connected in parallel with the piezoelectric body, the trigger being coupled with a striker which is tripped from a tensioned position when the trigger is pulled and released for striking the piezoelectric body before the switch closes. The leads are connected with the capacitor and a diode is arranged between the piezoelectric body and the capacitor, the polarity thereof being such that the charge produced as a result of the blow of the striker against the piezoelectric body flows into the capacitor but cannot flow back from the capacitor to the piezoelectric body and the electrical energy stored in the capacitor is available for igniting the ignition means when the switch subsequently closes.
