The invention relates to a process for carrying out gas-liquid reactions in a continuous flow reactor having several reactor chambers arranged parallel to one another, open in the direction of flow. The space-time yield can be increased in that a reactor is used with at least three chambers, the ratio of chamber width b to slit width s of which is, on average, greater than 3 and the slit width s of which is in the range of 5 to 100 mm. Preferably, s is in the range of 5 to 50 mm and s/b in the range of 5 to 100. The continuous flow reactor according to the invention with the at least three reactor chambers and the above ratio s/b is preferably tubular and contains one or more plate stacks.

Process and device for producing granulates by fluidized bed spray

An aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide is produced by direct synthesis from hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst. According to the invention, a gas mixture comprising H.sub.2 and O.sub.2, essentially saturated or supersaturated with water (=containing fog) is fed into a reactor containing the catalyst. The volume ratio of the gas mixture fed in (standard liters per hour) to liquid removed (liters per hour) is adjusted to a value equal to or greater than 15,000, especially 20,000 to 50,000, and the gas mixture leaving the reactor is recycled after replenishment with H.sub.2, O.sub.2, and H.sub.2 O vapor. Solutions with high H.sub.2 O.sub.2 concentration can be obtained according to the invention without additional concentration.

A process for the direct preparation of alkali metal cyanide and alkaline earth metal cyanide granules from an HCN-containing gas and an aqueous solution or suspension of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide. The reaction is performed in a reactor for fluidized bed spray granulation, wherein a solution or suspension of the hydroxide is sprayed onto seed granules of the cyanide being prepared and at the same time a hydrogen cyanide-containing gas is supplied to the reactor and water is evaporated by means of a fluidizing gas. By using a CO.sub.2 -free HCN-containing gas, alkali metal cyanide granules with advantageous properties, including a combined concentration of alkali metal carbonate and alkali metal formate of less then 0.4 wt. %, are obtainable.

A process for the preparation of an animal feed supplement based on fermentation broth is disclosed, wherein the supplement contains wholly or predominantly a fermentation product and the other constituents of the fermentation broth, which is characterised in that the fermentation broth is granulated, compacted and dried in a fluidised bed in one step whilst a sufficient amount of energy to obtain a desired particle diameter and a desired bulk density is introduced into the fluidised bed by mechanical device in addition to the energy required to produce the fluidised bed. Method and apparatus for producing sodium perborate monohydrate by dehydrating sodium perborate tetrahydrate in a fluid bed with heated air. Contact surfaces are arranged inside the fluid bed whose total area is the same as up to 500 times the area of the approach-flow bottom of the fluid bed. The contact surfaces are advantageously designed as heat exchangers whose surface temperature is adjusted to maintain 90.degree. to 110.degree. C. at the contact surfaces. The method results in a sodium perborate monohydrate with especially high abrasion resistance. In addition, the energy requirement is lower than that provided in the previously known method commonly used in the industry.
