Textile fabric having a water-repellent finish and method for producing the same

A method of manufacturing a penetration-resistant article that includes a textile fabric made from aramid fibers finished with finish solids. The finish solids include a carbonic acid polyester. The penetration-resistant article can be a fragment protection mat, a bullet-proof vest, a flak jacket, a stab-resistant vest, or a combination thereof.

A textile fabric made from aramid fibers finished with a finishing agent. The finishing agent includes a carbonic acid polyester. The textile fabric can be incorporated into a penetration-resistant article. The penetration-resistant article can be a fragment protection mat, a bullet-proof vest, a flak jacket, a stab-resistant vest, or a combination thereof.

Textile fabric made from aramid fibers and the use thereof

A penetration-resistant article includes at least one woven structure that has thermoplastic fibers and high-strength fibers, wherein the high-strength fibers have a strength of at least 100 MPa according to ASTM D-885, and a second weave of the woven structure has high-strength fibers. The thermoplastic fibers lie on the second weave and are connected to the second weave by way of at least one warp and/or weft thread. The thermoplastic fibers account for a proportion by weight with respect to the weight of the double weave of 5 to 35%. A method for producing such a woven structure is also described.

A penetration-inhibiting material having a first component having a first layer with a first set of threads and a second layer with a second set of threads, wherein the first set of threads is oriented in a first thread direction and the second set of threads is oriented in a second thread direction, and the first thread direction is transverse to the second thread direction. The penetration-inhibiting material has a second component having a third layer and a fourth layer, wherein the third layer is a thread layer having a third set of threads and the fourth layer is a thread layer having a fourth set of threads, the third set of threads is oriented in a third thread direction and the fourth set of threads is oriented in a fourth thread direction, the third thread direction is transverse to the fourth thread direction, the third thread direction forms a first angle to the first thread direction and to the second thread direction, and the fourth thread direction forms a second angle to the first thread direction and to the second thread direction, the third set of threads and the fourth set of threads are joined to each other using at least a textile binding agent.

Penetration-inhibiting material

An antiballistic article comprising a plurality of fabric layers of fibers with a strength of at least 1100 MPa according to ASTM D-885 is proposed, whereby there are at least two groups of areas with different textile densities within at least one fabric layer. Areas of a first group have a textile density of 8% to 31% according to Walz and areas of a second group have a textile density of 32% to 80% according to Walz.

Antiballistic article

The invention relates to a fabric having both stab resistant and anti-ballistic properties. The fabric is made of yarn of a weight greater than about 500 dtex, and the fabric has a minimum shrinkage factor of at least about 1% achieved through a densification treatment. The invention further relates to a method of producing a such a fabric having the steps of agitating a fabric made of a yarn of a weight greater than about 500 dtex, substantially removing a spin finish from the fabric before, during or after the agitating step, and drying the fabric.

Stab resistant and anti-ballistic material and method of making the same

A penetration-obstructing article comprising a multiplicity of fabric layers of fibers having elongation at break of less than 8%, measured according to EN 12562, wherein there are at least two groups of fibers in at least one single fabric layer, wherein the regions of a first group have a first fabric density DGaccording to Walz of from 8% to 80% and wherein the regions of a second group have a second fabric density according to Walz of from 8% to 80% and wherein the difference between DGand DGis at least 3%.

Penetration-obstructing article

A penetration-resistant material is described to include at least a double layer of woven fabric, wherein the double layer includes a first layer of fabric composed of a first set of threads having 3.5 to 20 threads/cm, having a linear density of at least 210 dtex, and composing at least 65% of the first layer fabric weight, and a second set of threads comprising 0.5 to 16 threads/cm and having a linear density of at least 50 dtex, with the second set of threads being transverse to the first set of threads, and the ratio of the number of threads/cm of the first set to that of the second set is greater than 1:1, and a second layer of fabric composed of a first set of threads having 0.5 to 16 threads/cm and having a linear density of at least 50 dtex, and a second set of threads having 3.5 to 20 threads/cm, having a linear density of at least 210 dtex, and composing at least 65% of the second layer fabric weight, with the second set of threads being transverse to the first set of threads, and the ratio of the number of threads/cm of the second set to that of the first set is greater than 1:1. In the first layer of fabric at least the first set of threads, and in the second layer of fabric at least the second set of threads, are treated with a water-repellant.
