A system for preloading the bearing of a cooling water pump for motor vehicles. The pump comprises a shaft and an impeller mounted on one end of the shaft and, an outer bearing ring surrounding the shaft. An axial face seal is mounted on one projecting end of the shaft operable bearing ring and to tension spring-loaded sliding rings with a predetermined contact pressure against each other. The outer axial end face of the axial face seal is aligned with the axial end face of the shaft to simplify and insert the same preloading of the bearing for assemblies put together by mass production techniques.

System for preloading the bearing of a pump assembly

Bearing design for the drive gear and the pump impeller of a cooling water pump for motor vehicles, with a shaft, which is installed so that it can rotate by means of two rows of balls in an outer bearing ring, and which projects on both sides beyond the outer bearing ring, characterized in that the shaft (12) is produced by the extrusion method and has a wall (20) separating chambers or compartments extending inwardly from opposing ends of the shaft, the wall is located on the drive side outside the rows of balls (24).

Bearing assembly and method for making a component thereof

A slide rail for tightening a chain has a pivot bearing at one end. A torsion spring is arranged coaxially thereto. The pivot bearing is designed as a slide bearing and is provided with friction disks under initial spring pressure axially, which disks effect a frictional damping of pivotal motion for suppressing vibrations and characteristic disturbances. The slide rail is made in one piece, of synthetic material, and is provided with recesses for the pivot bearing, a torsion spring and frictional dampers.

An automatic tensioning device for drive belts is equipped with a friction damper with low damping action against vibrations transmitted by the drive belt. A hydraulic shock damper has with high damping action is provided for large surge pulses. Preferably, the hydraulic shock damper an idle stroke in which the friction damper is active.

Vibration-damped spring for dynamic tension rollers, consisting of a tubular vibration damper with freedom of linear movement and a helical spring closely surrounding the damper wherein the helical spring has a middle section with turns of a larger diameter and in that, starting from that section, a continuous transition is provided toward the two ends with turns of a smaller diameter.

A tensioning mechanism for drive belts which consists of a support arm, a rotating tensioning roll mounted on the arm, and a pivot bearing on the support arm a certain distance away from the tensioning roll. The tensioning mechanism is attached together with a mounting plate by a fastener to a machine block. A spring urges the tensioning roll away from the mounting plate and toward the drive belt. In the area of the pivot bearing, the mounting plate has, in the axial direction of the bearing, a fork-shaped cross section with shank sections which support the pivot bearing on both sides, radially and axially, by way of the fastener.

A tensioning arrangement for a drive belt includes a support, a tension roller rotatably mounted on one end of the support, a swivel bearing arranged on the support at a distance from the tension roller, a swivel-damping element in the form of a linear-acting frictional damper having a master piston and a slave piston arranged in and separately frictionally engaging a cylinder, a spring arranged concentrically around the cylinder and coupled to the master piston, and a spring arranged inside the cylinder and coupled to the slave piston. The displacement of the master piston in one direction is opposed by the frictional forces separately acting on both pistons, whereas the displacement of the master piston in the other direction is opposed by the frictional forces acting on only the master piston.

Tensioning device for drive belt

A support housing for a tension roller formed as a one-piece deep drawn sheet metal cylindrical sleeve having a bottom end part which includes an eccentric bore therethrough, part of the bottom being axially displaced for increased stiffness and stability.

Supporting member

A rotation-damping rolling bearing is provided with a damping element between a cover or sealing disk and a row of rolling elements. The damping element can be integrally formed with a cover disk, vulcanized on the support body of the sealing disk, integrally formed with the support, or connected to the sealing disk separate from the support. The sealing disk is provided with a flexible sealing lip. The damping element contacts the rolling bodies with axial prestress.

Rotation-damping rolling bearing

A bearing unit for a rotating component, such as a toothed gear or guide pulley, with an integrated pump consists of a housing with a pump chamber defined therein, a pump rotor installed in the pump chamber, a support pin having an end supported in the housing, and a bearing ring rotatably mounted on the support pin. The bearing unit is mountable on a support surface of an associated machine element, such as an engine block by means of a flange on the housing. The pump rotor and the rotating component are securely mounted on the outer surface of the bearing ring in mutual abutting relationship. The pump rotor is disposed between the housing flange and a web portion of the rotating component. The rim portion of the rotating component circumscribes the pump rotor. A sliding sealing ring is provided between the housing or housing ring and the rotating component.

Bearing unit with integrated pump

A tension roller has a rolling bearing supported by a multipart support which is swivable about an eccentrically arranged mounting bolt. A rolling sleeve for a belt is arranged on the outer ring of the bearing. The support includes two side parts which abut the side surfaces of the bearing inner ring, thereby preventing axial movement. A central body is provided with respect to which the side parts are fixedly arranged. The central body is adapted to provide radial support for the bearing inner ring.

Tension roller

A hydraulically operating clutch release includes a housing having a pressure chamber sealed by a roll membrane. A clutch bearing is axially displaceable in the housing. A support body abuts the roll membrane in the chamber, and resiliently engages the bottom surface of the pressure chamber in the axial direction, to prevent damage to the roll membrane.

Gear for chain drives comprising a gear body of cast material having a hub section, a gear rim section with spur teeth, and a web section joining said hub and gear rim sections, and a ring plate of metal embedded in the web section, the outer edge of said plate being near the bottom of the areas between the spur teeth and having axial openings filled with casting material around its periphery, said ring plate having at its outer radial edge, radially outwardly directed projections, which are located in each case in a tooth, and which are embedded in the casting material of the gear body, said projections extending beyond the bottom of the spaces between adjacent spur teeth, and an axial opening formed in the ring plate adjacent each projection and radially below it.

Gear and method for making the same

A tension roller with a supporting member, pivoted on a pivot stud against the force of a tension spring, and rotatably supported in a roller sleeve by a bearing. The supporting member has a cylindrical interior space, limited by side walls, containing the tension spring. The side walls have bores for the pivot studs and recesses for formation of the stopping faces, against which the free ends of the tension spring abut in order to limit the angle of rotation of the tension roller. The member is made of synthetic material, using injection molding techniques. In order to produce this supporting member in an economical manner, additional recesses permitting insertion of a forming tool consisting of two halves are provided in the side walls of the member.
