A device for varying the stroke amplitude of at least one axially oscillating distributor roller in an application unit of a rotary printing press, includes a distributor roller drivable by a distributor stroke drive via a distributor stroke transmission including a coulisse having a groove and being adjustable from a first position to a second position, and a sliding block movable in the groove. The device having a first transmission member carrying the coulisse, and a second transmission member carrying the sliding block. The distributor stroke transmission is formed of the first and second transmission members. The coulisse is disposed adjustably relative to the first transmission member. Both first and second transmission members are drivable by the distributor stroke drive. The device also has an actuator for adjusting the coulisse. The actuator is carried by at least one of the first and second transmission members.

A central lubrication system for a rotary printing press with a central supply of lubricant for individual lubricating points and with a line system for feeding an oversupply of lubricant to the individual lubricating points, the excess lubricant being returned and tested for water content and, if water is present, the printing press being shut down, includes a test box connected, upstream of the central supply, in the line system for returning the lubricant, a sensor received in the test box, an inlet for the line system and an outlet formed in the test box so that the lubricant is able to circulate about the sensor in the test box between the inlet and the outlet thereof.

Ink is accurately metered in the defined transfer thereof from a fountain roller to a first ink roller in a printing unit. A ductor roller is swiveled back and forth between the ink fountain and the ink roller with a swivel mechanism. The swivel mechanism is driven independently of a main drive of the printing unit and with a discontinuous drive. Several parameters are thereby individually adjusted, among them a phase relationship between the ductor roller and a plate cylinder of the printing unit, a number of ductor beats per revolution of the cylinders of the printing unit, and a contact time of the ductor roller at the fountain roller and a contact time of the ductor roller at the first ink roller.

A printing press including a device for feeding a viscous fluid, such as a lacquer or varnish. The viscous fluid, such as a lacquer or varnish, can be taken from a cartridge and be distributed to a printed sheet or other suitable medium. In the manner of a pendulum, a pipe can be mounted on a carriage by means of a pivoting bearing. Via a lever, in both pivoting directions, The pivoting bearing can be supported on compression springs and at the upper end of the pipe, there can be disposed a sealing body which corresponds to a sealing surface provided on the carriage. The lower end of the pipe can determine the height of the fluid level in the fluid reservoir so that, with the pipe being in a perpendicular position, the feed opening formed in the carriage coincides with the feed opening of the pipe such that fluid is fed, whereas the feed can be interrupted when the pipe in in an oblique position.
