The invention relates to a door drive system for a wing of a door, a window or similar, comprising a housing with a drive and/or return device, e.g. a closing spring ( ), and a preferably hydraulic damping device. In practice, drive housings of this type are cast in aluminium. The production costs are relatively high since housing openings and boreholes such as hydraulic channels have to be cut into the housing ( ) later on. According to the invention, the housing ( ) is produced wholly or partly from plastic. This enables the cavities which are necessary for the housing to function, such as housing boreholes and/or openings to be made in the drive housing when it is produced, without removing material by cutting. According to another design, the drive housing has several housing parts which are produced separately. The adjacent sections of the housing parts are then stuck or welded together. Housing boreholes such as hydraulic channels can be made in the adjacent surfaces of the housing parts which are shaped accordingly, without removing material by cutting.

Door drive system

A cross country ski binding has a support element attachable directly to a ski for engaging a forwardly extending boot sole extension, and is also provided with latching mechanism for latching the sole extension to the supporting element, under imposition of spring forces. The cross country ski binding may include spring biased detent members engageable into detent provisions provided directly on the boot sole extension, such that the forward part of the ski boot is automatically locked in position upon insertion of the boot sole extension into the support element. Preferred embodiments of the invention include those accommodating an axial movement of the boot sole extension into the support element and latching mechanism, as well as embodiments wherein the boot sole extension is placed downwardly over a pivot pin forming part of the holding mechanism. Also, certain embodiments of the invention include additional locking levers for locking the latching mechanism in a latched position. Further, certain preferred embodiments include camming means, as well as ratchet and pawl means for performing the latching function interconnecting the support element and the cross country ski boot sole extension.

Cross country ski binding

A ski brake of the type having a pair of brake arms and a boot plate which, when depressed, holds the brake arms in an in-use skiing position and which, when released, enables the brake arms to pivot to an in-use braking position under application of spring force, the brake arms partially overlying the top surface of the ski in the in-use skiing position, is improved with respect to the manner in which the ends of the brake arms are transversely pulled-in during movement to said in-use skiing position. According to a preferred embodiment, this improvement comprises the provision of control elements for achieving the transverse pulling-in of the braking arms that comprise right-angular shoulders on a bearing plate and diverging wire sections on an actuating part of the ski brake.

Ski brake

A cross country ski binding for securing a ski shoe by a forwardly directed extension of its sole to a ski features a recess defined between two side walls, a top wall and a base plate with at least one and preferably two bracing members arranged within the recess and extending vertically at right angles to the top wall of the recess. The bracing members are adapted in operation to engage in corresponding longitudinally extending slots in the sole extension and serve to stiffen the recess and to react the tilting moments occuring during skiing. A securing device in the form of a toggle lever mechanism includes a hooked member which serves to engage behind a corresponding projection on the sole extension to draw the same into the binding and to prevent the ski shoe from moving rearwardly out of the binding. Various modifications are disclosed including an embodiment in which the bracing members are formed by inwardly turned portions of the sheet metal base plate of the binding.

A cross country ski binding of the type in which a forwardly extended portion of the sole of a ski shoe is received by and fixed into a chamber fitted to the ski. In the present arrangement an over center linkage is arranged generally in front of the chamber and includes a clamp portion with a hooked end which fits over the top of the chamber and engages an abutment on the upper side of the extended sole portion so that on engaging the binding by actuation of the over center linkage the hook is pulled forwardly to secure the ski shoe within the binding. An especial feature of the arrangement is that the clamp is arranged as a resilient spring which obviates the need for resilience elsewhere in the binding. Actuating means are provided which allow the skier to open and close the binding from a standing position with a ski pole. In a modification an auxiliary spring fastened to the clamp is used to assist disengagement of the hooked end of the clamp.

A cross country ski binding includes a support element which has a rear part clampingly engageable with a forward extension of a ski boot sole and a front part which is fixedly attachable to a ski. In order to accommodate angular movement between the front and rear parts, a latching mechanism is included which permits such angular movement about cross axes extending crosswise of the longitudinal extent of the ski when the binding is in an in-use position. The forward extension of the boot sole is formed as a short articulation part for hingedly connecting the boot to the latching mechanism. In preferred embodiments the forward boot sole extension formed as the articulation part extends less than 15 mm forwardly from the toe accommodating part of the boot, such that the boots can be comfortably walked in when not skiing.

A cross-country ski binding is provided which includes a boot sole holding member engageable with a boot sole extension to hold the same in position on a ski. Guide structure is provided at a bearing member fixed to the ski, which cooperates with a corresponding guide part of the holding member to guide the holding member to move in a forward longitudinal direction during its movement into the sole-holding position so that the boot sole is pulled forwardly into the binding as it is clamped into position.
