A maneuver cartridge device for use in a self-loading firearm includes a barrel extending from a chamber to a muzzle side and having an intercepting device arranged on the muzzle side for intercepting a projectile. The barrel has a first barrel section that adjoins the chamber and a second barrel section that adjoins the first barrel section. The first barrel section has a first cross section corresponding to a caliber of the projectile and the second barrel section has a second cross section that is larger than the first cross section.

Manoeuvres cartridge device and self-loading firearm suitable therefor

Electronic trigger apparatus for use with firearms are described herein. An example electronic trigger apparatus described herein includes a trigger assembly having a trigger and trigger arm that is movable between a first position and a second position. A first biasing element biases the trigger in the first position and provides a first resistance to the trigger when the trigger moves between the first position and the second position. A switch element assembly has a spring element and a sensor operatively coupled to the spring element where the spring element provides a second resistance to the trigger as the trigger moves between a pressure-point position and the second position. The sensor detects a force or deflection imparted on the spring element by the trigger arm when the trigger is in the second position.

Electronic trigger apparatus for use with firearms

Apparatus and methods are described for a weapon simulator. An example weapon simulator includes a pressure piston, which is couplable to a weapon, which acts to open a breech, and which is seated in a pressure cylinder. An example pressure piston includes a slider. The slider holds a pressure intake opening open and keeps one or more pressure outlet openings closed when the breech block is in a front-most position. In addition, the slider keeps the pressure intake opening closed and holds the one or more pressure outlet opening open when the breech block is in a rear-most position.

Firearm simulators and related methods

Trigger apparatus for use with firearms are described herein. An example electronic trigger apparatus described herein includes a first actuation drive to move an actuation member between an initial position and an operating position at which the actuating member is to activate a trigger lever of the firearm to discharge the firearm. A clutch is movable between a first position to operatively couple the first actuation drive to the actuation member and a second position to releasably couple the first actuation drive from the actuation member. A second actuation drive is operatively coupled to the actuation member and biases the actuation member to the initial position when the first actuation drive is releasably coupled from the actuating member via the clutch.

Trigger apparatus for use with firearms

A firearm for firing electrically ignitable cartridges is described. An example firearm includes an electric circuit, a breech block, and a firing pin held in the breech block. The firing pin includes an ignition tip. Furthermore, the example firearm includes a contact lever, wherein movement of the contact lever is coupled to movement of the breech block. In addition, the contact lever is couplable to at least one of the electric circuit or the firing pin, and the contact lever interrupts electrical contact between the electric circuit and the firing pin when the breech block is open.

Practice barrels for use with practice cartridges are described herein. An example practice device for use with self-loading grenade launchers includes a practice barrel having a practice cartridge chamber to receive a practice cartridge. A live cartridge does not correspond to the practice cartridge chamber. Additionally, the live cartridge is unable to be properly positioned within the practice barrel to prevent ignition of the live cartridge. Further, the practice cartridge chamber is cushioned to substantially absorb a breech energy to substantially prevent damage to the practice barrel.

Weapons safety systems and methods of operating the system are described. An example weapons safety system in which the enabling of a weapon to shoot is controlled by means of an exchange of identification between the weapon and an enabling apparatus. An example weapon includes a weapon identification code and a safety device. An example enabling apparatus that is designed to capture the weapon identification code and to transmit an enabling signal to the safety device in the weapon includes a control unit. The control unit controls the enabling device and includes an identification memory that includes at least one registered weapon identification. Upon receiving a control signal from the enabling apparatus, the weapon transmits an identification signal that contains the weapon identification code. In addition, the enabling apparatus sends a weapon-enabling signal if the weapon identification code matches at least one of the registered weapon identification. Furthermore, the enabling apparatus may change the identification code.

Weapons firing safeties and methods of operating the same

Mounting devices for firearms and methods of mounting the same are disclosed. An example mounting device for use with a firearm includes a clamping device, with which the mounting device can be optionally clamped to the firearm. The clamping device includes a rigid clamping jaw arrangement, a movable clamping jaw arrangement opposite the rigid clamping jaw arrangement, and a swiveling lever. The swiveling lever is coupled to a spring device that locks the movable clamping jaw arrangement, and the spring device has a first spring arrangement, which loads the swiveling lever in an opening direction over an entire unlocking path, and a second spring arrangement, which applies a much greater spring tension than the first spring arrangement. The second spring arrangement also loads the swiveling lever via a spring travel in the opening direction and minimizes the spring travel to maintain the seat of the mounting device with respect to the firearm.

Adjustable gun carriages are disclosed. An example gun carriage includes: a coarse height adjustment brake; a coarse side-to-side adjustment brake; a fine height orientation adjustment mechanism; a fine side-to-side orientation adjustment mechanism; a first control to actuate the coarse height adjustment brake; a second control to actuate the fine height orientation adjustment mechanism; a third control to actuate the coarse side-to-side adjustment brake; and a fourth control to actuate the fine side-to-side orientation adjustment mechanism.

A hammer release apparatus for a hand held firearm which reduces the force required to discharge the firearm is disclosed which includes a hammer, a pivotably mounted trigger, and a restraining lever. The restraining lever engages the cocked hammer which is biased towards a firing position by a hammer spring. The restraining lever counteracts the force of the hammer spring to reduce the pull resistance associated with the trigger of the firearm.

An ammunition magazine for beltless fed ammunition is disclosed. The magazine includes at least one endlessly guided ammunition guide chain to transport ammunition, and a chain tightener to tighten the ammunition guide chain with a predetermined chain tension. The chain tightener carries out a clamping movement in the direction of tightening to increase the chain tension and carries out a clamping movement against the direction of tightening to reduce the chain tension. To prevent slack from developing, (for example, during acceleration of the ammunition guide chain), the chain tightener is provided with a brake to influence the spring constant of the chain tightener as a function of the direction of tightening and the speed of the clamping movement.

Ammunition magazine for beltless fed ammunition

An ammunition feed device is disclosed for feeding beltless fed ammunition to a self-loading weapon. The disclosed device includes an endlessly guided ammunition feed chain to feed ammunition into the weapon. It also includes at least two deflection units to guide the ammunition feed chain. Additionally, the disclosed device includes a drive for intermittently driving one of the deflection units in order to intermittently feed ammunition to the weapon in the ammunition feed direction. To reduce the acceleration forces applied by the drive of the ammunition feed chain without changing the operating speeds of the ammunition feed chain, the undriven deflection unit is connected to a blocking device that substantially blocks movement of the deflection unit opposite the ammunition feed direction.

Ammunition feed device for beltless fed ammunition

Disclosed herein is an apparatus for separating consecutive cartridge-receiving cells of a driven magazine for an aircraft-mounted machine gun or cannon. The apparatus includes an elongated, substantially cylindrical shaft constructed of a fiber-reinforced plastic, wherein the shaft has end portions designed for attachment to a movable transport chain, and a middle portion defined by a driver constructed of an elastomer. The driver preferably dampens the gravitational forces introduced to the shaft.

A cartridge feed mechanism for automatic firearms comprising an endless chain for feeding cartridges of different ammunition types which chain can be selectively driven in both directions is characterized in that a feeder device is provided which is or can be coupled with two magazine arrangements and which, due to its particular design, can alternatively feed cartridges from the one or the other magazine into the chain, depending on the direction of movement of the chain, and that the feeder device is so designed that every time the direction of movement of the chain is changed the cartridges already present in the chain are fed back while at the same time cartridges from the other magazine arrangement are fed into the chain.
