A snare drum including a self-alignment component is disclosed. The self-alignment component may be engaged by a tensioning band, which can attach to one end of a snare that contacts or is proximate a bottom drum head. The tensioning band may loop around a part of the self-alignment component, such as an alignment piece thereof. The geometry of the self-alignment component is designed to allow the tensioning band to self-align such that portions on opposing sides of the alignment piece have approximately equal tension therein and/or have approximately equal length, thus allowing for a properly aligned snare on the bottom drum head. The self-alignment component can include a plate portion attached to a drum sidewall or tensioning device on a drum sidewall, and can further include a cover portion for attachment to the plate portion.

Nut devices including a butterfly portion with an axial hole that can be opened such that the nut device can be slid up or down a host device, such as a cymbal stand rod, without the typical screw-type motion, are disclosed. Also disclosed are nut devices including drum key functionality.

Trigger trays for use with a musical instrument trigger are disclosed. The trigger tray can fit within a drum assembly beneath a playing surface such as a drum head or drum pad. The trigger can be connected to the drum head or drum pad, or can be actuated through vibration of the trigger tray. The trigger tray can include a cutout on its underside or bottom side. The trigger tray can include a substantially circular head mount portion and a trigger mount portion therein, with a plurality of arms connecting the head mount portion to the trigger mount portion.

Electronic cymbal assemblies are disclosed. Assemblies according to the disclosure can include a single frame and a cover thereon, the cover including a cutout with flat edges to prevent accidental rotation of cymbal assembly components. Assemblies according to the present disclosure can also include non-planar sensors that can be applied to the bell and edge portions of a frame, sensors and frames with respective protrusions and bumps to mate with one another, and cover undersides with non-smooth surfaces to increase sensitivity to user actuation.

The invention is based on a musical instrument case, in particular for storage of a string instrument, with at least one housing, with at least one storage region, which is delimited by the housing, for storage of a musical instrument, and with at least one fixing unit, which is provided to fixate a musical instrument in the storage region at least substantially fixedly as regards a position. It is proposed that the at least one fixing unit comprises at least one structural element of low flexural strength, which is in a fixated state of a musical instrument provided to contact a body of the musical instrument.

Drum stands and drum stand baskets according to the present disclosure can include an adjustment feature which enables the basket to fit differently sized drums. Additionally, drum stands and drum stand baskets according to the present disclosure can include elements which result in less interference with the sound of a snare drum compared to a snare drum in a prior art drum stand. Finally, embodiments of the present disclosure can be compacted for easy storage or transport.

A tilter for a stand, in particular a cymbal stand, comprises two elements being movable relative to each other, a connecting means connecting the moveable elements to each other, a locking means for reversibly fixing the position of the movable elements with respect to each other, as well as at least one friction means arranged between the movable elements. In a fixed position of the locking means, the friction means is in frictional contact with a peripheral surface of at least one of the movable elements.
