A face shield assembly for use with a hard hat to protect a user from injury caused by an arc-flash event. Ventilation slots are provided at the sides of the assembly below an apparatus used for connecting the face shield assembly to a hard hat. Alternatively, lower front ventilation slots are provided, which also improve voice communication by the user. The face shield assembly can have either side or front ventilation slots, or both.

A locking mechanism to prevent unintentional disengagement of a goggle lens from its frame and allowing for easy changes of the lens when required. The locking mechanism employs translatable clips engaged to the frame which translate toward and away from the lens between engaged and disengaged positions. The engaged position locks the lens in place until the user translates the clip to the disengaged position. A post and slot engagement of each clip to the frame maintains them connected to the frame to prevent loss.

A rotational engagement component to engage a lens for facial protection, to headwear such as a helmet worn on the head of a user. The device features one or a plurality of mounts engageable to the helmet. A pivot engaged with the mount and with the lens, allow rotation of the lens from an as-used position in front of the user, to a horizontal stowed position. The pivot is translatable in its engagement to the mount allowing for translation of the lens in the stowed position to adjust its center of gravity on the user's head.

Weight balancing face shield

An eyewear apparatus for treating dry eye conditions featuring a pair of curved eyecups having interior cavities for providing treatment to the eyes when worn. Each interior cavity has a sidewall surface adapted to removably engage with the perimeter edge of a moisture pad which may be mounted therein to provide moisture, aroma, or medicinal treatment to the eye. An ocular cavity formed in the moisture pads provides a separate treatment chamber to each of the two eyes of a user. Heat or cold may also be provided to the ocular chamber through temperature components which mount to the moisture pad or in a gap between the moisture pad and the front of the interior cavity.

Apparatus, system and method for treating dry eye conditions and promoting healthy eyes

Goggles for protecting the eyes of a wearer in ultra-hazardous conditions. The goggles comprise a frame that seals to the face of the wearer so that the wearer's eyes are enveloped. An adjustable strap is attached to the goggles and goes around the head of the wearer in order to secure the goggles over the wearer's face. Indirect ventilation is utilized to eliminate fogging, and drains are used in the frame to evacuate trapped moisture, A curvilinear lens with multiple optical zones is secured within the frame of the goggles and angled for increased lower peripheral vision. The materials with which the goggles are constructed are capable of withstanding a temperature of at least about 550&deg; F. for a minimum of five minutes without oozing or dripping or otherwise deforming.

Method for injection molding a curvilinear lens

A process of making the compositions comprise blending an IR/optical dye with a substrate material and subjecting the blend to curing conditions. Products manufactured from the composition ablate upon impact of electric-arc energy.

Electric-arc resistant composition

A pivoting clip for joining a strap to a pair of goggles. The pivoting clip has a clip receiver mounted on the goggles, and a pivotable mount attached to the clip receiver, with a hinge pin for pivotally attaching the pivotable mount to the clip receiver. A pivot pin and pivot pin retainer pivotally mount a strap hanger and a ratchet pawl to the pivotable mount.
