Collecting bandwidth data includes producing master and slave text files in response to simultaneous collection of data samples from a network device by servers, generating a clean data file by sorting data in the master and slave text files by the network device port, sorting data samples for the port by collection time, and for each of the samples: adding a designated interval of time to a time on the network device resulting in a target network device time whereby the time on the network device corresponds to a time the data sample was collected, examining data samples in the master and slave text files corresponding to the time the respective data samples were collected, selecting from one of the master and slave text files the sample with a collection time most closely matching the target network device time, and storing the selected sample in the clean data file.

A method, system, and storage medium for collecting bandwidth data is provided. Method, system, and storage medium for collecting SNMP bandwith data

Methods, systems and computer program products for integrating data in a communications network received at provider (P) routers from provider edge (PE) routers having a plurality of different configurations are provided. Global collection and export parameters for the P routers are configured. A collector associated with the P routers is configured to maintain a netflow exported data table for the P routers based on the global collection and export parameters received from the P routers. P router text files are configured. The P router text files identify all P routers associated with the collector using Internet protocol (IP) addresses associated with each of the P routers. A destination PE router is located for a selected P router based on IP addresses in the P router text file associated with the selected P router such that the interface IP address of the selected P router is matched with the open shortest path first (OSPF) router identification of the destination PE router.

Methods, systems and computer program products for integrating network traffic

One embodiment of the invention relates to a method for collecting SNMP bandwidth data from a network device via a data collection system. The method involves simultaneously collecting data samples from a port on the network device by collecting servers. The collecting servers include a master server and at least one slave server. The method further involves producing a master text file by the master server and a slave text file by the slave server. Data computation activities are performed which include generating a clean data file utilizing the master and slave text files and computing delta values for data samples in the clean text file. Control of data computation activities is transferred to the slave server upon a failure detected at the master server. Other embodiments include a system and a storage medium.
