A portable water treatment system includes at least one sub-system to treat water including a flocculation system, a chlorination system, and a bio-sand filter system. The water treatment system may include multiple sub-systems for treating water that feed into one another. The sand filter system may include a mini bio-sand filter, a foam filter, or a pressed block filter. The flocculation system may include a tank bottom that urges settling particles toward a sump and a ladle that removes settled particles. A manual pump or siphon may be included in the water treatment system.

Gravity feed water treatment system

A composite metal surface that looks metallic, but permits effective transmission of an electromagnetic field. The composite metal surface can be integrated into various electronic equipment, such as telephones, remote controls, battery doors, keyboards, mice, game controllers, cameras, laptops, inductive power supplies, and essentially any other electronic equipment. The composite metal surface can also be integrated into non-electrically conductive heat sinks, high permeability shielding, and polished metal non-electrically conductive surfaces.

A flux concentrator and method for manufacturing a flux concentrator is provided. The method can include combining powdered soft magnetic material, a binder, a solvent, a internal lubricant; mixing the materials to create a mixture, evaporating the solvent from the mixture, molding the mixture to form a flux concentrator, and curing the flux concentrator. The flux concentrator may be laminated and broken into multiple pieces, which makes the flux concentrator more flexible. Breaking the flux concentrator does not significantly affect the magnetic properties. Since the permeability of the binder is very similar to that of air, adding tiny air gaps between the fractions is not significantly different than adding more binder.

Flux concentrator and method of making a magnetic flux concentrator

An activated carbon filter that treats a gas stream having a varying relative humidity, the gas stream contaminated with at least one of formaldehyde, an acid gas and an alkaline gas. The filter includes a plurality of activated carbon granules mixed together in a carbon bed filter. A first portion of the granules supports both manganese dioxide and potassium hydroxide. A second portion of the granules supports both potassium iodide and potassium hydroxide. A third portion of the granules supports phosphoric acid. The different portions operate to catalyze the oxidation of formaldehyde and other contaminants at varying humidity. The potassium hydroxide optionally chemisorbs any carboxylic acid by-products of the formaldehyde. Also provided is a method to treat a gas stream with the filter.

Air treatment filter and related method

The present invention relates to a point-of-use water treatment system unit ( ). The unit ( ) includes a filter housing assembly ( ) having a filter tank assembly ( ) and a closure ( ) which utilizes a handle ( ) and cammed reciprocating lock blades ( ) to secure the closure ( ) to the filter tank assembly ( ). A UV tank assembly ( ) includes a planar baffle plate ( ) and a vaned baffle plate ( ) to induce plug flow about a UV lamp assembly ( ). The UV lamp assembly ( ) is used which simultaneously electrically and sealingly mounts to UV tank assembly ( ) and electrical cap assembly ( ) using a bayonet mount. A bi-planar manifold assembly ( ) is used to interconnect components of the WTS unit and to provide an envelope for accommodating a water pipe assembly ( ). The bi-planar manifold assembly ( ) enhances the compactness of the design of the WTS unit ( ). Also, a support plate ( ) is disclosed which provides support to subcomponents of the WTS unit ( ) while also dissipating heat from a UV tank assembly ( ).

Point-of-use water treatment system

The present invention relates to a point-of-use water treatment system unit. The unit includes a filter housing assembly having a filter tank assembly and a closure which utilizes a handle and cammed reciprocating lock blades to secure the closure to the filter tank assembly. A UV tank assembly includes a planar baffle plate and a vaned baffle plate to induce plug flow about a UV lamp assembly. A UV lamp assembly is used which simultaneously electrically and sealingly mounts to a UV tank assembly and electrical cap assembly using a bayonet mount. A bi-planar manifold assembly is used to interconnect components of the WTS unit and to provide an envelope for accommodating a water pipe assembly. The bi-planar manifold assembly enhances the compactness of the design of the WTS unit. Also, a support plate is disclosed which provides support to subcomponents of the WTS unit while also dissipating heat from a UV tank assembly.

An activated carbon block filter including a unique bonded carbon mixture. The carbon mixture preferably includes a mean particle diameter in the range of about 60 microns to about 80 microns and a particle size distribution having less than 10% by weight of particles larger than 140 mesh and less than 10% by weight of particles smaller than 500 mesh. More preferably, the carbon mixture includes a mean particle diameter in the range of about 65 microns to about 75 microns. Even more preferably, the carbon mixture includes a mean particle diameter of about 70 microns and a particle size distribution having less than 7% by weight of particles larger than 140 mesh and less than 7.5% by weight of particles smaller than 500 mesh.

Carbon block water filter

An integrated filter and sleeve assembly has an annular non-porous sleeve having opposing open ends and an outer circumferential wall with an inner surface. The integrated filter and sleeve assembly also has a filtration block disposed within the annular sleeve between the open ends. The filtration block includes a mixture of filtration media and a binder. A seal is formed between the inner surface and the filtration block by applying heat to the annular non-porous sleeve and the filtration block.

End flow filter and method of making same

Floor polish remover compositions containing a low molecular weight nonionic surfactant, an alkaline builder, a hydrotrope and an amine. In one aspect, the floor polish remover composition of the present invention includes demineralized water such that the composition is in liquid form. The low molecular weight nonionic surfactants used in the present invention are the condensation products of low molecular weight alcohols having an average of from about 5 to about 11 carbon atoms with an alkylene oxide. A method of making the floor polish remover compositions of the present invention and their methods of use are also provided.

Floor polish remover

A drain cleaning composition includes at least about 40% by weight of a free-flowing coated alkali metal hydroxide and about 5% to 20% by weight of mixture of a hypochlorite generator and a peroxide generator. The hypochlorite and peroxide generators react to release oxygen gas and hypochlorite ions, the hypochlorite generator being in stoichiometric excess over the peroxide generator to produce free hypochlorite ions for dissolving hair and other protein based clogs. The coating on the drain cleaning composition prevents the hydroxide from reacting with the other components of the mixture before the mixture is added to water.
