The present disclosure relates to an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor comprising an array of ultrasonic transducers, one microcontroller unit (MCU) configured for obtaining a configuration of the transducers, and a plurality of parallel mixed-signal Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC), each configured to be communicatively connected with the MCU and for Analogue-Digital (AD) conversion of analogue signals from the transducers to digital data and comprising a respective data storage for storing said digital data. The sensor also comprises, for each of the mixed-signal ASICs, a plurality of parallel front-end ASICs, each configured to be communicatively connected with said mixed-signal ASIC and for controlling a respective group of the transducers in accordance with the obtained configuration.

Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor

An acoustic biometric imaging system for acquiring a fingerprint representation, comprising: a device member; a transmitter transducer having a first fundamental mode resonance frequency, coupled to the device member; drive circuitry; a receiver transducer having a second fundamental mode resonance frequency, coupled to the device member; receiver circuitry; and processing circuitry configured to: control the drive circuitry to provide an electrical excitation signal to the transmit transducer resulting in fundamental mode oscillation of the transmit transducer with a frequency spectrum having a peak frequency being higher than the first fundamental mode resonance frequency and the second fundamental mode resonance frequency; receive, from the receiver circuitry, an electrical sensing signal indicative of an acoustic reflection signal; and determine the fingerprint representation based on the sensing signal received from the receiver circuitry.

Acoustic fingerprint representation acquisition technique

A modem is provided for a wireless device that is capable of providing service for at least two SIMs. The modem has at least a first set of modem components and a second set of modem components. The modem selectively reconfigures the arrangement of the plural sets of modem components. In a first configuration, the first set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a first SIM of the wireless device and the second set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a second SIM of the wireless device. This allows active wireless connections to be made on behalf of both SIMs simultaneously by the sets of modem components. In a second configuration, the first set of modem components and the second set of modem components provide wireless connection service for the first SIM.

Modem and method of operating a wireless device

A wireless device has at least a first modem and a second modem and at least a first SIM and a second SIM. The first modem supports a different level of service than the second modem. A processing system of the wireless device selectively reconfigures the connection of the first modem and the second modem to the SIMs. In a first mapping configuration, the first SIM is connected to the first modem and the second SIM is connected to the second modem. In a second mapping configuration, the second SIM is disconnected from the second modem, and the first SIM is disconnected from the first modem and is connected to the second modem thereby to obtain a different level of service for the first SIM than in the first mapping configuration.

Processing system, wireless device and method

A chunk of branch metric computation bits is generated including bits that correspond to transition bits of a possible chunk of transition bits that could have been generated by a state transition of a convolutional encoder of a transmitter. The bits of the chunk of branch metric computation bits are scrambled. A branch metric for the received chunk of soft scrambled code bits is calculated as a function of the scrambled bits of the chunk of branch metric computation bits and the soft scrambled code bits of the received chunk of soft scrambled code bits. The branch metric is indicative of the probability that the received chunk of soft scrambled code bits was originally generated by the convolutional encoder as the chunk of transition bits corresponding to the generated chunk of branch metric computation bits.
