A low-depth bottle crate has a peripheral wall with upper and lower portions that extends upwardly from a crate bottom. The upper portions include a plurality of substantially U-shaped cut-outs and a plurality of columns defined between the U-shaped cut-outs. A notch may be defined along the external top surface of the plurality of columns. A nesting rib that fits within the notch when the crate is nested may be positioned within the inner area of the plurality of columns. Handle cut-outs in the lower portion of the opposing end walls may define handle bars that extend between two of the plurality of columns. These two columns may include a part that extends above the top surface of the handle bar, the part including an inwardly angled surface. Radius supports may be disposed on the inner surface of the handle to prevent retained bottles from leaning out of the crate.

Low depth bottle crate

A beverage tray has a floor with peripheral, upstanding side and end walls for holding a plurality of containers of beverage, for example in six-packs. The floor has a plurality of downwardly projecting detents on its bottom surface for cooperation with the tops of beverage containers in a sub-adjacent tray to impede free sliding movement of an upper tray over the beverage containers in a sub-adjacent tray to enable stable stacking of the trays, while at the same time enabling the upper tray to be slid over the cans in the lower tray to remove the upper tray from a stack of trays. The detents are rectilinear and present spaced, opposed, parallel, straight detents that define detent sets surrounding bottle top receiving areas. The upper edge of the side wall is smoothly sinusoidally curved to define spaced, alternating upper side wall sections and recessed areas. The side wall has an inwardly inclined, planar outer side wall panel, and a plurality of flat pads are on the outer side wall panel for cooperation with automated machinery used in the handling of the tray.

A case for carrying a plurality of bottles comprising a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls connected to a case bottom having a plurality of bottle supporting platforms, the side walls and the end walls having a lower part including a plurality of panels separated by windows and an upper part including a substantially solid band, the solid band in the end walls having handle-forming openings therein; wherein the panels are each provided on interior surfaces thereof with a pair of relatively thick, vertically extending and laterally spaced ribs, the ribs having edges facing radially towards centers of adjacent bottle supporting platforms; and wherein the solid band is provided on an interior surface thereof with a plurality of vertically extending buttresses, each directly above a respective window.

Crate for 20-24 oz. bottles

A low depth bottle crate has a peripheral wall of uniform height, the peripheral wall including a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls. A longitudinal interior partition extends between the end walls and a plurality of transverse interior partitions extend between the side walls to thereby create a plurality of bottle receiving pockets within the peripheral wall. A crate bottom is connected to the peripheral wall, an upper surface of the crate bottom formed to include a bottle supporting platform for each bottle receiving pocket. The crate interior includes a plurality of columns located at intersections of the transverse partitions and the longitudinal partition, each interior column comprised of four discrete hollow posts, each having a convex surface facing radially into one of four of the bottle receiving pockets that surround each of the interior columns.

Two liter bottle crate

A low depth bottle crate includes a peripheral wall of uniform height, the peripheral wall including a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls. A longitudinal interior partition extends between the end walls and a plurality of transverse interior partitions extend between the side walls to thereby create a plurality of bottle receiving pockets within the peripheral wall. A crate bottom is connected to the peripheral wall, an upper surface of the crate bottom formed to include a bottle supporting platform for each of the bottle receiving pockets. A plurality of interior columns are located at intersections of the transverse partitions and the longitudinal partition, each interior column having an interior surface facing radially into each of four of the bottle receiving pockets that surround each of the interior columns, the surface having a pair of vertically extending interior convex ribs adapted to provide support for a bottle loaded into the respective pocket. Similar half columns are located about the side walls and similar quarter columns are located in the crate corners. Thus, the surfaces that support the peripheral surface of the bottles located in the bottle receiving pockets are all in the form of vertically oriented convex ribs. The underside of the crate bottom is provided with a unique array of mutually perpendicular bottle closure receiving recesses, centered on the respective bottle supporting platforms.

Beverage container crate

In accordance with the invention, a container is provided for receiving at least the sharp portion of at least one medical instrument. The container has a wall on one end penetrable by the sharp instrument, and is separated into two fluid-tight compartments by a frangible membrane. One of the compartments contains a hardenable substance, such as epoxy, resin or other material, and the second compartment is configured to have a small internal free volume and contains an activator to react with the hardenable material to cause it to quickly harden when the two are admixed. The hardened material bonds to and encapsulates the sharp portion of the instrument, rendering it incapable of further use.

System for safe disposal of sharp instruments

A tray for holding a plurality of beverage containers has a floor with a plurality of container seating areas on its top surface and structure on its bottom surface to enable a plurality of the trays loaded with containers to be stacked on top of one another in stable relationship, yet slid relatively easily on top of one another when desired. Peripheral heel protector bands extend around the periphery of the tray to protect the lower ends of containers from damage, and spacer members project upwardly from the floor between the container seating areas to maintain containers in the tray spaced from one another and prevent displacement of the containers from their seating areas when the tray is tilted. A tray sidewall includes spaced pillars extending upwardly from the periphery of the floor and supporting a top rail at their upper ends. A plurality of denesting straps extend between the heel protector bands and the top rail in the spaces between the pillars to prevent snagging of the heel protector bands on the top rail during denesting of a stack of empty trays.

Beverage can tray with improved handling features

A beverage can tray floor has a plurality of redoubts on its bottom surface for cooperation with the rims of cans in a sub-adjacent tray to impede free sliding movement of an upper tray over the rims of cans in a sub-adjacent tray, while enabling the upper tray to be slid over the cans in the lower tray. The redoubts include at least one elongate, tapered redoubt that extends in spanning relationship to the rim of a can to facilitate initial lateral sliding movement. The tray also has peripheral heel protector bands extending around a bottom portion thereof to protect the heels of cans, and upstanding can spacer members between can seating areas to maintain cans in the tray spaced from one another and prevent displacement of the cans from their seating areas when the tray is tilted. The sidewall includes a plurality of spaced pillars extending upwardly from the floor and supporting a peripheral top rail. The pillars are omitted and/or shortened in some areas to provide smooth, uninterrupted portions of the top rail which serve as handles. Spaces are defined between the upper ends of at least some of the pillars and the top rail, and upwardly projecting tabs on the upper ends of some of the pillars extend into the spaces when the trays are stacked to prevent wedging of the trays.

A bottle carrier case having a crenelated side wall, for transporting bottles of beverage. The case has locating means on the bottom of the case for stably stacking the case and has openings provided in the concavities for easily removing the case from overlying bottles. The bottle carrier case is able to both directly stack and cross-stack up to about 50% of its overall depth.
