Disclosed herein are endoscope assemblies, and more particularly endoscopes with a working channel for use in hysteroscopy, and methods of use thereof. Devices and systems related to an integrated hysteroscopic treatment system including an endoscopic viewing system, a fluid management system, a resecting device and a controller for operating all the systems. Also disclosed are integrated hysteroscopic treatment systems that include an endoscopic viewing system, a fluid management system, a resecting device and a controller for operating all the systems.

Endoscope and method of use

A steerable member is disclosed generally having a steerable member for a medical apparatus, including a continuous, elongated body having a proximal section, a distal section, and a middle section between the proximal and distal sections, where the proximal section of the elongated body is less flexible than the distal section. At least one pull wire sheath extends through the proximal section and the middle section, but not through the distal section, and has a channel therethrough. A pull wire is disposed in the channel of the sheath and extends through the proximal section, middle section and distal section of the elongated body, the pull wire having a distal end affixed to a distal end of the elongated body, so that the distal section of the elongated body bends in response to a force applied to the proximal end of the pull wire.

The effects produced by surgical devices that deploy an electrical circuit between electrodes are dependent on the nature of electrical work perform upon the conductive media in an around biologic tissues. Non-ablation radiofrequency surgical devices utilize a protective housing that provides, based upon procedure-specific needs, the ability to 1. move, manipulate, and segregate near-field effects both tangentially and perpendicularly to the tissue surface, 2. deliver far-field electromagnetic effects to tissue unencumbered by current deposition, and 3. serve as amechanical adjunct to and a selective throttling vent/plenum for energy delivery. A differential between current density dispersion and electromagnetic field strength is exploited to allow normal tissue healing responses to the near-field effects of tissue modification and preconditioning while permitting far-field effects, which are useful for inducing therapeutic biologic responses, to manifest in treated tissues that have been protected from electrical current generated collateral damage.
