Bath ring

A bath ring is provided which is collapsible from a use to a storage position whereby the bath ring may be reconfigured to a compact configuration. The bath ring includes a base portion, a ring portion pivotally mounted to the base portion, a support post for supporting a rear section of the ring portion in spaced relationship to the base portion, and a T-shaped restraining bar pivotally mounted to the base portion and forming a front restraint which may be pivoted out of the way to place an infant on the base portion. In its collapsed position, the support post may be pivoted to a location underneath the base portion and the ring portion and T-shaped restraint may be pivoted rearwardly and downwardly toward the base portion.

A baby monitor transmitter is provided for use in combination with a receiver unit. The transmitter includes an arcuately shaped antenna which conforms to an arcuate shape of an upper edge of the transmitter housing. The antenna may be pivoted outwardly away from the housing to a plurality of predetermined positions. In addition, the transmitter includes a clip member which may be used to hang the transmitter on various supporting surfaces. The clip member includes a vertical leg extending parallel to a rear surface of the transmitter and the vertical leg may be moved toward and away from the housing in order to accommodate supporting structures of different sizes.

An infant seat which functions as an infant carrier, a glider, or a car seat. The car seat includes a base with an upwardly open cavity and a carrier connected to the base and at least partially contained within the cavity. The positioning of the carrier relative to the base may be adjusted to allow the carrier to move relative to the base or to lock the carrier to the base. In a locked configuration, seat belt receivers are properly positioned to receive an automobile seat belt, when the car seat is positioned on the seat of an automobile.

A gate is provided for use as a closure device within a doorway and includes an L-shaped frame member which may be positioned in stationary relationship to the doorway and a panel member which is pivotally mounted to the frame member. The panel member carries a latching mechanism including a latch for engaging a lower horizontal extension of the frame member to prevent pivotal movement of the panel portion. In addition, a contact member is provided for contacting a surface of the doorway when the latch member is engaged with the frame. A release lever is provided for moving the contact member out of engagement to allow pivotal movement of the panel relative to the frame. A locking member is provided for preventing operation of the lever such that the locking member must be operated simultaneously with the lever in order to release the contact member.

A highchair is provided including a tray portion which may be adjusted horizontally relative to a seat portion of the chair. In addition, a seat may be adjusted vertically whereby the highchair may be used adjacent to tables of various heights. The chair of the present assembly is also provided with laterally outwardly extending foot portions whereby the stability of the highchair is improved.

A baby monitor receiver is provided for use in combination with a transmitter unit. The receiver includes a plurality of LED's positioned along the front upper edge of a housing for providing a visual indication of signals received by the receiver. The LED display is positioned such that they may be easily viewed from a variety of locations relative to the housing of the receiver and ranging from a location directly in front of the receiver to a location directly above the receiver. In addition, a clip member is provided on a rear portion of the housing for supporting the receiver from a person's belt as well as for acting as a leg to support the housing in an upright position.

Diaper container

A diaper container is provided having an exterior lid and an interior flap member wherein the lid and flap member are each provided with a filter element. The lid member is pivoted at a rear edge thereof to open the container and the flap member is pivoted at a central portion thereof and covers an opening for receiving diapers into the container. The pivotal movement of the flap member is limited in order to control dispersion of odors from the container. In addition, the body of the container is configured with its longest dimension in the front to rear direction whereby the container may be placed within narrow passages.

A child car seat having an improved restraint system in which the restraint system may be easily connected and disconnected, automatically placed about the child in the proper position, and automatically adjusted to properly secure the child within the seat. The restraint system includes a pivotal barrier assembly, a harness assembly, and an adjusting assembly, each of which is interconnected. As a portion of the barrier assembly is pivoted into a position in front of the child, the harness assembly is automatically placed upon the child in the proper position. Moreover, the harness assembly is automatically adjusted about the child by the adjusting assembly. When the restraint system is in the locked position by locking of the barrier assembly, further loosening of the harness assembly is substantially prohibited by the adjusting assembly. However, the adjusting assembly is able to act upon the harness assembly to automatically remove any slack therefrom which may exist either before or after locking of the restraint system.

A child's car seat is provided that includes a seat belt assembly and a shield assembly. The seat belt assembly includes a seat belt that engages the lap of the child. A vehicle seat belt retains the car seat at the back of the vehicle seat. The seat belt of the child's car seat remains fixed in position once the child is secured in position. As a result, the child cannot extend the length of the seat belt and defeat its restraining purpose. The shield assembly can be positioned on either of two different sides to facilitate seating/unseating of the child in/from the car seat. The shield assembly can be removed whereby remaining portions of the car seat can be used with a vehicle lap belt to support and restrain the child.

An infant carrier is provided which is capable of being positioned in various configurations in order to suit the various activities in which a infant can be involved. The body of the carrier is movably attached to the base in order that they can be moved to various positions relative one another. In a first position, the body of the carrier and the base are adjacent one another and in a second position the carrier body is moved a limited distance away from the base. In this second position, the carrier body is capable of a bouncing motion which can be activated by the infant's own movement or another person's touch. Preferably additional configurations, such as configurations in which an infant in the infant carrier can be easily fed or carried, are also obtainable.
