The invention comprises a hydrocyclone separator which includes a first segment including a fluid inlet, an overflow outlet and a spiral fluid ramp having a first and second end. The first end of the spiral fluid ramp is in fluid communication with and extends from the fluid inlet. The second end of the spiral fluid ramp is connected in fluid communication with the wider end of a frustoconical second segment and the narrower end of the frustoconical second segment is connected in fluid communication with a first end of a third segment comprising a tubular element. An underflow outlet is located at the second end of said tubular element.

Apparatus for concentrating and deodorizing ruminant waste effluent. The effluent is passed thru a hydrocyclone. The conentrated, deodorized solids waste is suitable for disposal or can be further processed to turn it into fertilizer. The cleaned water can be discarded or reused.

A liquid separator is disclosed for separating a liquid mixture into first and second liquids of different densities. The liquid separator includes a substantially conical chamber having a closed upper portion with a liquid mixture inlet therein. A first liquid collecting mechanism is provided in a lower portion of the conical chamber for collecting and removing a first separated liquid, and a second liquid collecting device surrounds the opening in the lower portion of the conical chamber for collecting and removing a second separated liquid. A return conduit mechanism is provided for returning a portion of the second separated liquid tangentially into an upper portion of the conical chamber to act as a drive fluid to cause the centrally introduced liquid mixture to rotate for effective and efficient separation.

Apparatus for dewatering. The effluent to be dewatered is passed through a hydrocyclone. The underflow of the hydrocyclone is confirned by a shroud to convert horizontal components of spray into vertical components. The effluent is driven forcibly vertically onto an endless driven filter belt.

A hydrocyclone has a lower conical separating chamber with a lower outlet and a tube in the outlet projecting into the concial chamber to reduce the water content of the materials discharged from the lower outlet.

A hydrocyclone separator has a central feed section, an upper vortex finder, and a lower conical section. A spigot and socket connection is provided to join the sections. Each spigot has a groove and each socket has a bead that mates with the groove. A band surrounds each connection and clamps them together to form a leak-tight connection.

System for joining sections of a hydrocyclone separator

A bushing for the deck of drilling rig in which slowly rotating drilling pipe (drill string) move downwardly to form a bore in the earth. The bushing includes an outer shell, an inner shell mounted for rotation within the outer shell and an elastomeric bushing mounted within the inner shell for rotation therewith. The bushing is formed of a plurality of arcuate segments which are snugly fitted against the drilling pipe by a garter spring which allows for limited expansion of the segments with respect to each other to accommodate pipe of differing diameters. The end portions of the segments overlap one another so that as the bushing is expanded, a seal against dust and fluids is maintained.
