An attachment () for a sewing machine () to provide simultaneous sewing and sealing of a seam comprises a reel () for dispensing a strip of adhesive thermoplastic polymer () between fabric members () to be sewn. A plurality of heated driven rollers () opposed to heated idler rollers () having a continuous belt () thereover collectively exert heat and pressure on the seam, melting the polymer strip () so as to seal the seam. Thread () having been treated with adhesive thermoplastic polymer may be employed to seal the punctures in the fabric made by the sewing machine's needle (). The driven rollers are driven in synchronization with the operation of the sewing machine and are engaged with and withdrawn from the seam responsive to operator command.

Attachment for sealing seams

An attachment for a sewing machine to provide simultaneous sewing and sealing of a seam comprises a reel for dispensing a strip of adhesive thermoplastic polymer between fabric members to be sewn. A plurality of heated driven rollers opposed to heated idler rollers having a continuous belt thereover collectively exert heat and pressure on the seam, melting the polymer strip so as to seal the seam. Thread having been treated with adhesive thermoplastic polymer may be employed to seal the punctures in the fabric made by the sewing machine's needle. The driven rollers are driven in synchronization with the operation of the sewing machine, and are engaged with and withdrawn from the seam responsive to operator command.

A system for forming a waterproof seam between to sewn materials. The seam is formed using an adhesive coated thread. A thin strip of adhesive is placed between the two materials at the seam line. As the coated thread is sewn into the seam heat and pressure are simultaneously applied, melting the adhesive coating thereby filling the needle punctures. The melted adhesive coating will also flow into the areas between the needle punctures and between the materials. The heat and pressure applied to the coated thread will also melt the adhesive strip, causing additional adhesive to flow into the needle punctures and the areas between needle punctures.

Adhesive thread system

An integrated body armor garment for providing protection to a wearer against ballistic impacts. The garment has a body portion and a ballistic resistant armor system. The body portion can have an outer shell and an underlayer, and the armor system can be embedded within the body portion between the outer shell and the underlayer. The garment can be an upper body garment with a torso portion and left and right arm sleeves and a ballistic-resistant collar, and the armor system can be an upper torso armor system with body armor panels overlapping in a reverse shingle configuration. The armor system can have a plurality of armor panels connected by a resilient cord or other elastic suspension network. The network can be adjustable, as by a cinching of the cord, to permit the body armor panels to be adjusted in relative position.

Integrated body armor garment

A portable, disposable water pack. The water pack is comprised of a light weight, water impervious bag having an opening with a water tube inserted there through. The invention pack has two plastic handle strips attached thereto. The invention pack also has a preformed, tear-down notch formed therein.
