A convertor for converting an analog signal to a digital pulse comprises a switching capacitor which is charged by a differential analog signal supplied to the switching capacitor over an input circuit. The capacitor is discharged over an output circuit with the aid of a constant current supply. The charge level of the capacitor is proportional to the analog signal so that the time it takes the capacitor to discharge to a selected low charge level, is proportional to the analog signal. This time period is used by a microprocessor control to generate a digital pulse having a pulse equal to the discharge time for the capacitor. The microprocessor also selectively connects the input and output circuits to the capacitor for respectively charging and discharging the capacitor.

Low level voltage pulse-converter

A low power high efficiency switching power supply comprises a switching transducer having primary and secondary windings. The primary winding is supplied with a primary voltage over a series connected constant current source and Zener diode. The primary voltage is chopped by an FET which has a gate connected to an oscillator operating at relatively low frequency. The secondary windings of the transformer are connected to full-wave rectifiers which convert the A.C. signal produced by the chopping of the primary voltage, int a D.C. signal. Efficiency is maximized by using fast switching FET's and low flux densities in the transformer. The power supply is particularly useful in 4-20 mA current loops.

Low power high efficiency switching power supply

An electro-pneumatic control system (10) is provided having closed loop control of a D.C. motor (12) which is operated from a biased motor servo circuit (14) thereby eliminating the need for a negative power supply to provide bi-directional rotation. Closed loop control is provided by a feedback signal from a pressure transducer (26) monitoring the pressure output signal (22) of the mechanical servo assembly (20).
