A method including measuring cardiac beats in signals at one or more electrodes on a catheter in response to electrical activity in the heart cavity and collecting a plurality of additional data signals related to the cardiac beats, computing criteria that is used to characterize beat morphology of a cardiac beat in the plurality of additional data signals, the criteria based on a comparison of the plurality of additional data signals and a beat template, selecting a subset of less than all of the cardiac beats in the signals measured by the one or more electrodes by determining, based on the criteria, whether to select the cardiac beat and include beat data for the cardiac beat, and determining physiological information based on the selected subset of less than all of the cardiac beats in the signals measured by the one or more electrodes.

Beat alignment and selection for cardiac mapping

In some aspects, a method includes (i) securing multiple sets of current injecting electrodes to an organ in a patient's body, (ii) causing current to flow among the multiple sets of current injecting electrodes to generate a field in the organ, (iii) in response to current flow caused by the multiple sets of current injecting electrodes, measuring the field at each of one or more additional electrodes, (iv) determining expected signal measurements of the field inside the organ using a pre-determined model of the field, and (v) determining a position of each of the one or more additional electrodes in the organ based on the measurements made by the additional electrodes and the determined expected signal measurements of the field.

Tracking system using field mapping

In general, in one aspect, a method is disclosed for determining information about a position of an object. The method includes: (i) causing current to flow between each of three or more sets of current-injecting electrodes on a first catheter inserted into an organ in a patient's body, the organ having a periphery (ii) in response to current flow caused by each set of current injecting electrodes, measuring an electrical signal at each of one or more measuring electrodes located on one or more additional catheters inserted into the organ in the patient's body and (iii) determining the position of each of one or more of the measuring electrodes on the additional catheters relative to the first catheter based on the measured signals from the one or more measuring electrodes.

Intracardiac tracking system

A method including: measuring signals at one or more catheter electrodes in response to electrical activity in a heart cavity and collecting additional data signals; defining a template set including information related to the additional data signals; computing criteria for each of the additional data signals based on a comparison of the additional data signals and the template set; synchronizing the measured signals with one another by calculating a single synchronization offset that is a time value based on the computed criteria and the difference between a marker in the template set and a point in the additional data signals; selecting a subset of the synchronized signals by determining whether to include the signals for a heartbeat in the subset based on the computed criteria; and determining physiological information at multiple locations of the endocardium surface based on the measured signals by processing the selected subset.

Intra-cardiac tracking system

In some aspects, a method includes (i) causing current to flow among multiple sets of current injecting electrodes to generate a field in an organ, (ii) obtaining the positions of one or more measuring electrodes used for measuring the field generated by the current injecting electrodes, (iii) in response to the current flow, measuring the field at multiple locations in the organ using the one or more measuring electrodes, (iv) modeling the field using the measurements of the field from the one or more measuring electrodes and the positions of the one or more measuring electrodes, and (v) determining expected signal measurements of the field at additional locations within the organ using the model of the field.
