The present invention provides a structural laminate component that includes first and second panels formed of a sheet material, the top and bottom edges and the lateral sides combining to form an outer perimeter edge. A core is sandwiched between the first and second panels, the core having an outer peripheral edge spaced inwardly from the outer perimeter edges of the first and second panels. An adhesive is applied between the first and second panels, the adhesive directly joining the inner surface of the first panel with the inner surface of the second panel in an area extending around and adjacent to the outer perimeter edge to form an integral frame that provides aesthetics and structure to the component.

Structural laminate component

A reconfigurable work station includes a work surface supported atop a pedestal and base. A linkage arm is affixed to the base or pedestal at a first end and pivotally connected to a fixed member at a second end. The work station can pivot, with the linkage arm, about the fixed member to be selectively positioned in multiple positions. The pedestal may be height adjustable and the work surface may be rotatable atop the pedestal. Alternatively, the work station can include two pedestals and the linkage arm can be rotatably connected to one of the pedestals to rotate the work station, as well as to pivot the work station about the fixed member. A work space includes the work station and at least one wall panel, and a work space system includes multiple work spaces. Work stations within respective work spaces can be selectively positioned in focused or collaborative configurations.

Reconfigurable work station, work space, and work space system

An improved worksurface for home and office furniture constructions. The improved worksurface generally includes a plurality of vertical openings disposed along at least a portion of the periphery of the worksurface, where the vertical openings are adapted to support removable and interchangeable accessories. The accessories can include shelving units, support stands, storage baskets, swivel arms, docking cradles, and display mounts, for example, each being positionable at multiple locations along the periphery of the worksurface. The vertical openings are optionally disposed within a recessed portion extending adjacent a rear edge of the worksurface. In use, a user can reposition the accessories as desired, providing enhanced flexibility and customization over existing constructions.

Modular worksurface system

An insert for an existing file drawer. The insert includes upper and lower insert drawers which are each of shallower depth and fit within the original drawer compartment in a vertically stacked relationship. The upper and lower insert drawers are coupled between the original drawer front and the remaining original box structure. The insert drawers are horizontally slidably mounted one above the other so that opening movement of the drawer front horizontally sequentially extends the upper and lower insert drawers into a fully open position which enables access into both insert drawers.

Drawer insert for file cabinet

An insert drawer arrangement attachable to an existing drawer of a file cabinet to define a raised second storage compartment. The arrangement includes an insert drawer provided with end panels which are disposed sidewardly adjacent separate mounting panels, the latter being mounted on the end walls of the existing drawer. The sidewardly adjacent end and mounting panels have a horizontal guide structure cooperating therebetween to enable the insert drawer to be horizontally moved from a first position superimposed over the existing drawing into a second position wherein it is cantilevered outwardly beyond the existing drawer to permit access to the interior of the existing drawer.

Upper drawer insert

A table arrangement having a guide rail structure secured to the table adjacent the underside of the table top. A carriage is movable along a guide structure from a retracted position under the table top to an extended position disposed adjacent one table edge. A supporting frame is hingedly carried on the carriage and mounts a flat-panel video monitor thereon, the latter being storable directly under the table top when the carriage is in the retracted position. Movement of the carriage to the extended position causes the supporting frame and monitor to project beyond the adjacent table edge, whereupon the supporting frame and monitor can be swung upwardly about the hinge axis into an upright use position wherein the monitor protrudes above the table top adjacent the one edge, and the monitor screen fronts onto the region above the table top.

A universal power distribution system is provided for routing electrical circuits within a building structure to comprehensively provide electrical power to the building in ceiling configurations, wall-mounted configurations, raised floor configurations and in office furniture configurations. The system components for all of these configurations have common plug connectors that are engagable with each other so as to be readily usable in a wide variety of applications. The system is readily adaptable to form virtually any conventional circuit configuration found within conventional hard-wired systems yet is formed simply through the routing of the cables through the building cavities and interconnection is accomplished merely by plugging components together rather than through labor-intensive manual wiring.

Modular electrical distribution system for a building

A modular multi-component power distribution system is provided having a plurality of modular components which are configurable into a bus-bar based system, a flexible cable base system and a hybrid configuration wherein the bus-bar and flexible cable components are interconnected together. The components allow for configuration of the power distribution system into a variety of office systems including wall panel systems, desking or freestanding furniture systems and raised flooring systems either individually or in various combinations. The system components include a bus-bar-like power distribution assembly (PDA), branching connectors, flex connectors, which are useable to join power distribution assemblies together, and receptacles which are pluggable into either the power distribution assembly, the branching connectors or the flex connectors. Additionally, the power distribution assembly includes solid-wire electrical conductors which are accessible through multiple groups of plug openings to which any of the connectors and receptacles may be plugged. Still further, the flexible branching connectors are joinable serially together to distribute power and also may plug into the PDAs. The branching connectors further include at least one group of openings on each end to allow for the connection of additional system components like a branching connector or a receptacle.
