A device for containing bone graft material includes an outer sleeve including a first proximal longitudinal split extending along a length thereof and a first distal longitudinal split extending along a length thereof and an inner sleeve connected to the outer sleeve via at least one strut so that a bone graft collecting space is defined therebetween, the inner sleeve including a second distal longitudinal split extending along a length thereof in combination with an interstitial mesh extending circumferentially between the inner and outer sleeves to hold graft material in the bone graft collecting space, the interstitial mesh including a third longitudinal split extending along a length thereof so that a distal side of the device may be spread open to open the distal longitudinal slot from the outer sleeve, through the interstitial mesh and the inner sleeve to a space radially within the inner sleeve.

In one example a method of fracture reduction includes imaging, intraoperatively, a fractured bone of a patient to obtain a first representation of the fractured bone in a computing system. The fractured bone defines at least a first bone fragment, and a second bone fragment that is separated from the first bone fragment by a fracture. The method includes imaging, intraoperatively, a contralateral bone of the patient to obtain a second representation of the contralateral bone in the computing system. The method includes generating, intraoperatively in the computing system, a mirrored representation of the first representation or the second representation. The first representation is compared to a representation of a desired orientation of the fractured bone, where the representation of the desired orientation is the mirrored representation of the second representation. Alternatively, the mirrored representation is compared to the representation of the desired orientation of the fractured bone, where the representation of the desired orientation is the second representation.

A bone plate system is designed for use on a bone, which may be a humerus. The system includes an elongated bone plate extending along a longitudinal axis, the bone plate having an upper surface, an opposed bone-facing surface, and a boundary edge of the bone plate; and at least one threaded fastener hole extending from the upper surface to the bone-facing surface. The fastener holes are designed to receive a bone fastener to couple the bone plate to the bone. A plurality of first suture-receiving structures are connected with the bone plate and project from the boundary edge of the bone plate, so that the first suture-receiving structures are spaced from each another along the boundary edge of the bone plate. Each of the first suture-receiving structures comprises a wire loop anchored to the upper surface or to the bone-facing surface of the bone plate.

A device for collecting a bone graft material comprises a canister extending defining a filter-receiving space therein, the canister including a connection for connecting to a vacuum source, a proximal end of the canister including a first locking feature and a filter element sized and shaped to be received within the filter-receiving space of the canister, the filter element including a channel extending therethrough, the channel defined via a mesh material and a proximal end of the filter element including a second locking feature releasably engageable with the first locking feature of the canister via a rotation of the filter element about a longitudinal axis thereof relative to the canister in combination with an extractor sized and shaped to be received within the channel of the filter element, the extractor defining a graft material receiving space therein and being releasably engageable with the extractor.

The present invention is directed to a system and method for performing tissue, preferably bone tissue manipulation. The system and method may include implanting markers on opposite sides of a bone, fractured bone or tissue to facilitate bone or tissue manipulation, preferably in-situ closed fracture reduction. The markers are preferably configured to be detected by one or more devices, such as, for example, a detection device so that the detection device can determine the relative relationship of the markers. The markers may also be capable of transmitting and receiving signals. An image may be captured of the bone or tissue and the attached markers. From the captured image, the orientation of each marker relative to the bone fragment may be determined. Next, the captured image may be manipulated in a virtual or simulated environment until a desired restored orientation has been achieved. The orientation of the markers in the desired restored orientation may then be determined. The desired relationship between markers may then be programmed into, for example, the detection device. Next, actual physical reduction and/or manipulation of the bone may begin. During the manipulation procedure, the orientation of the markers may be continuously monitored and when the markers substantially align with the virtual or simulated orientation of the markers in the desired restored orientation, an indicator signal is transmitted.

Simulated bone or tissue manipulation

A device is for containing a bone graft material. The device includes a mesh outer sleeve extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and sized and shaped to correspond to a profile of an outer surface of a target bone. The outer sleeve includes a plurality of openings extending therethrough, longitudinally adjacent ones of the plurality of openings being offset from one another relative to a longitudinal axis of the device. The device also includes a mesh inner sleeve connected to an interior surface of the outer sleeve via at least one strut so that a bone graft collecting space is defined therebetween The inner sleeve is sized and shaped to correspond to a profile of a medullary canal of the target bone. The inner sleeve includes a plurality of openings extending therethrough.

A device for containing bone graft material includes a mesh outer sleeve extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and sized and shaped to correspond to a profile of an outer surface of a target bone. The outer sleeve includes a longitudinal slot extending along a length thereof. The device also includes a mesh inner sleeve connected to an interior surface of the outer sleeve via at least one strut so that a bone graft collecting space is defined therebetween. The inner sleeve is sized and shaped to correspond to a profile of a medullary canal of the target bone. In addition, the device includes an interstitial mesh extending radially away from an exterior surface of the inner sleeve toward an interior surface of the outer sleeve to hold graft material in the bone graft collecting space.

A device for containing a graft material includes an outer member formed via an outer mesh sheet biased toward a coiled configuration in which the outer mesh sheet is coiled about a longitudinal axis thereof so that, when the outer member is positioned about separated portions of a target bone in an operative position, the outer member reverts to the coiled configuration and contracts about and engages the separated portions. The device also includes an inner member formed via an inner mesh sheet coiled about a longitudinal axis thereof. The inner member is movable between a first biased coiled configuration and a second coiled configuration. A diameter of the inner member in the first coiled configuration is larger than a diameter of the inner member in the second coiled configuration.

In one embodiment, a bone fixation plate has first and second ends spaced apart along a first direction so as to define a length, and third and fourth ends spaced apart along a second direction so as to define a height that is less than the length. The plate has an inner and outer surface spaced apart along a third direction so as to define a thickness that is less than both the height and length. Openings extend from the inner surface to the outer surface along the third direction and are spaced apart along the first direction. Further, the plate has tangs that are offset from the openings with respect to the second direction, and extend out with respect to the outer surface along the third direction. The tangs are spaced apart from one another along the first direction, and are configured to receive a securement device.
