A method for providing a welded joint includes: providing a first metal sheet having a first melting point; providing a second metal sheet having a second melting point, the second melting point being lower than the first melting point; providing a weld material; and joining the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet together by means of the weld material, thus defining a first joining interface between the first metal sheet and the weld material and a second joining interface between the second metal sheet and the weld material. The joining includes heating the second metal sheet at the second joining interface to a temperature higher than the second melting point, but lower than the first melting point.

Method for providing a welded joint between dissimilar materials

Described herein is a single-sided welding head including a first welding electrode and a second welding electrode, where the first and second welding electrodes are carried by a body of said welding head. The first welding electrode is movable relative to the body of said welding head at least along a first coordinate of motion. The second welding electrode is movable relative to the body of said welding head at least along a second coordinate of motion; where said first coordinate of motion is a coordinate of angular motion that develops about a first axis of rotation, and said second coordinate of motion is a coordinate of linear motion that develops along a first axis of translation.

Single-sided welding head

A bodywork or chassis component for a vehicle includes a first sheet having a first connection flange and a second sheet having a second connection flange, the first and second sheets being joined in correspondence of the respective first and second connection flanges. The first connection flange is a flange folded back towards the first sheet so as to define a valley with the first sheet. The second connection flange is overlapped to said first connection flange for an overlap length and it is at least in part joined to said first connection flange by a welding at that joins a perimeter edge of the second connection flange to a side of the first connection flange external with respect to said valley. The first and second connection flanges are parallel to one another in correspondence of the overlap length. The invention further includes a method for manufacturing of the aforementioned component.

Bodywork or chassis component for a motor vehicle, particularly a door for a motor vehicle

A hydroforming device includes a top die and a bottom die, set between which is a metal element to be formed and which are pressed against one another during a hydroforming process. A relative movement of the two dies between the open condition and the closed condition is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder. The opening of the two dies during the hydroforming process, when the forming cavity is filled with liquid at a high pressure, is prevented by applying on the two dies a force generated by means of two wedge-shaped members, which are horizontally mobile, controlled by respective actuator means and having inclined surfaces in contact with corresponding inclined surfaces of a vertically mobile member. The mobile member and the hydraulic cylinder are set operatively in series between one and the same die of the two dies and the base of the hydroforming cell. On the opposite side, the two dies rest against a top cross member of the fixed structure of the hydroforming cell, which is rigidly connected to the base by means of two shoulders so that the vertical forces that are generated during the hydroforming process are discharged on the shoulders, which are subject to tensile stress.
