A fixative polymer is provided, comprising: structural units of monoethylenically unsaturated Calkyl (meth)acrylate monomer; structural units of monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid containing monomer; structural units of monoethylenically unsaturated hydroxy functionalized Calkyl (meth)acrylate monomer; and structural units of carbosiloxane monomer of formula (I) wherein a is 0 to 3; wherein d is 0 or 1; wherein Ris hydrogen, Calkyl, aryl, —OSi(R)or —X—SiOSi(R); wherein Rand Rare hydrogen or Calkyl; wherein Ris —OSi(CH)OSi(CH); wherein Y is formula (II), (III), (IV) or (V) wherein R, Rand Rare hydrogen or Calkyl; wherein X, Rand Rare a divalent linking group; wherein Ris a Calkyl group; wherein b is 0 to 4 and wherein c is 0 or 1.

Fixative polymer for hair styling

Provided is a concentrated emulsion and personal care compositions containing the concentrated emulsion. The emulsion comprises: (a) from 60 to 95 wt %, based on the total weight of the emulsion, of an internal phase comprising: (i) a low density polyolefin with a density equal to or below 0.90 g/cm, and (ii) a cosmetically acceptable solvent; (b) from 0.1 to 30 wt %, based on the total weight of the emulsion, of a surfactant; and (c) balance water as a continuous phase.
