Method, apparatus and computer program product for multi-modal user authorization are described herein. For example, the apparatus includes at least one processor and at least one non-transitory memory including program code. The at least one non-transitory memory and the program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, receive a request to enable a first client device associated with a first user profile to access a group-based communication system; determine a first access privilege status for the first user profile; in response to determining that the first access privilege status is a general access privilege status, transmit, to the first client device, first user interface data associated with a general access user interface; and in response to determining that the first access privilege status is a limited access privilege status, transmit, to the first client device, second user interface data associated with a limited access user interface.

Multi-modal user authorization in group-based communication systems

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide apparatuses, systems, and computer program products for group-based communication channel organization. In this regard, embodiments described herein are configured to enable group-based communication interfaces rendered with group-based communication channels organized into specific organized channel sets. A plurality of organized channel sets may be reorganized, and/or the associated channel set for each organized channel set may be reorganized. In one example embodiment, an apparatus is configured to receive an interface rendering request associated with an authenticated user account and a group-based communication interface, identify at least one organized channel set associated with the authenticated user account, and cause rendering of the group-based communication interface comprising an organized channel set interface element set, each organized channel set interface element in the organized channel set interface element set associated with one of the at least one organized channel set.

Apparatuses, computer program products, and methods for group-based communication channel organization

A method includes receiving a request to display sets of unread messages associated with a plurality of communication channels of a communication platform, wherein each set of unread messages is associated with a respective communication channel of the plurality of communication channels; receiving a selection to sort the sets of unread messages according to a user-defined sorting scheme for ordering display of the plurality of communication channels in the communication platform; and displaying the sets of unread messages sorted according to the user-defined sorting scheme.
