The present disclosure provides lettuce plants exhibiting resistance to downy mildew. Such plants may comprise novel introgressed genomic regions associated with disease resistance from. In certain aspects, compositions, including novel polymorphic markers and methods for producing, breeding, identifying, and selecting plants or germplasm with a disease resistance phenotype are provided.

Downy mildew resistant lettuce plants

Lettuce () plants exhibiting resistance tobiotype Nr:1 are provided, together with methods of producing, identifying, or selecting plants or germplasm with abiotype Nr:1 resistance phenotype. Such plants include lettuce plants comprising introgressed genomic regions conferring pest resistance. Compositions, including novel polymorphic markers for detecting plants comprising introgressed loci, are further provided.

Lettuce plants having resistance tobiotype Nr:1

The present disclosure provides for unique spinach plants with broad-spectrum resistance to downy mildew and their progeny. Such plants may comprise an introgressed QTL associated with the broad-spectrum resistance to downy mildew. In certain aspects, compositions, including distinct polymorphic molecular markers, and methods for producing, using, identifying, selecting, and the like of plants or germplasm with resistance to downy mildew are provided.

Methods and compositions forresistance in spinach

The invention provides compositions and methods relating to the separation of quantitative Downy Mildew resistance traits from linked but undesirable agronomic traits. The invention further provides plants, plant parts, and seeds comprising such Downy Mildew Resistance traits, which do not comprise alleles specifying undesirable agronomic traits that are genetically linked to the resistance traits.
