A knife gate valve with an interior channel divided by an interior channel configured to receive a valve gate, the valve gate can travel along the interior channel. A removable first wear ring is disposed on the upstream side of the interior channel, the first wear ring substantially lining the upstream side of the interior channel; and a removable second wear ring disposed on the downstream side of the interior channel, the second wear ring substantially lining the downstream side of the interior channel; a first retainer ring adjacent to the gate on the upstream side of the valve; and a second retainer ring adjacent to the gate on the downstream side of the valve is disclosed.
