Dynamic carrier aggregation cell relationship management systems and methods are provided. In some embodiments, carrier aggregation relationship configuration logic computes carrier aggregation utilization statistics for primary serving cell and secondary serving cell relationship configurations. The logic further reconfigures primary serving cell to secondary serving cell relationships based on the utilization statistics to provide carrier aggregation coverage to user equipment that most efficiently utilizes the extra bandwidth made available by activating a secondary serving cell for carrier aggregation. The ability to dynamically reconfigure primary service cell to secondary service cell relationships improves carrier aggregation utilization, reduces congestion, and improves network resource utilization.

Systems and methods for dynamic carrier aggregation cell relationship management

Aspects provided herein provide methods, systems, and a non-transitory computer storage medium storing computer instructions for dynamic slot reconfiguration for time division duplex nodes in a network. The method begins with monitoring a set of geospatial hex bins for a predetermined time for data utilization. At least one geospatial hex bin in the set of geospatial hex bins is identified as having a non-typical data utilization pattern. The non-typical data utilization pattern may be either a heavy uplink (UL) data pattern or a heavy downlink (DL) data pattern. The slot pattern used by the at least one geospatial hex bin in the set of geospatial hex bins with the non-typical data utilization patterns is dynamically reconfigured. The reconfiguring of the slot pattern may allocate at least one flexible slot to uplink or downlink symbols.

Dynamic reconfiguration of time division duplexing slot formats to optimize user experience in non-typical traffic scenarios

Systems and methods for managing wireless communication base station radio frequency (RF) band usage by network access devices are provided. One or more of the embodiments address the problem network service degradations caused by unauthorized relocation of fixed wireless access (FWA) devices. More specifically, one or more of the embodiments described herein provide for a guest network access device (GNAD) manager that may monitor usage of a base station coverage RF band layer and use network usage data to detect when a relocated FWA device may be causing a service quality degradation to other UE attached to that base station coverage RF band layer. When the GNAD manager determines that a relocated FWA device is potentially causing a service quality degradation, the GNAD manager may trigger a reconfiguration of the relocated FWA device that disables the ability of the relocated FWA device to attach to the coverage RF band layer.

Systems and methods for managing wireless communication base station radio frequency (RF) band usage by network access devices

Systems and methods for user equipment (UE) transfer return management are provided. In some embodiments, a telecommunications base station may include a UE transfer return manager that monitors when a UE transfers out to a target base station, and looks for anomalous patterns of UE transfer returns that may be indicative of a PLMN incompatibility. When the UE transfer return manager detects that a UE is exhibiting an anomalous cyclical pattern of transfer returns an incompatibility may be presumed between the UE and that target base station. The incompatibility may be recorded by the UE transfer return manager to memory as UE redirection restriction data. The UE redirection restriction data may then be referenced by the source base station to forgo subsequent attempts to transfer that UE to that target base station, thus avoiding the waste of network and/or UE resources being consumed by ineffective UE transfer attempts.

Systems and methods for user equipment transfer return management

Aspects herein provide a system, media, and methods for dynamically switching a user device to a wireless connection as optimized for high uplink and/or downlink volume communications and/or low-latency needs associated with one or more applications, operations, and/or other functionalities, automatically and autonomously. In aspects, a user device is either directly connected to a telecommunications network via a base station and bypasses an in-range local network generated by a fixed wireless access point, or is connected to the local network generated by a fixed wireless access point instead of the telecommunications network. The connection selected and/or switched to is based on device capacity and signal characteristics.

System and methods for a dynamic and autonomous network switching for a user device

Aspects provided herein provide methods, systems, and a non-transitory computer storage medium storing computer instructions for network aware optimal route selection for autonomous user equipment (UE) in a network. The method begins with identifying an initial route based on a mapping mechanism. An example is entering a start and ending point for a delivery using an autonomous UE. After an initial route is identified operator defined geospatial hex bins and base stations along the initial route are identified. Further identifying operations include identifying at least one flow quality of service (QoS) value that comprises a priority of at least one service and identifying at least one geospatial hex bin and associated node with a QoS value greater than an operator defined threshold. Those geospatial hex bins are then marked and excluded from the route of the autonomous UE and a revised route is transmitted to the autonomous UE.

Network aware optimal route selection for autonomous applications

A base station receives a request from a fixed wireless access network for uplink and downlink prescheduling. Blind grants for uplink data are sent to multiple subscriber units. The fixed wireless access network implements dynamic scheduling of downlink data. The uplink data is received from the multiple subscriber units based on the blind grants. The downlink data is sent to the multiple subscriber units using dynamic scheduling. Presence of congestion on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) of the fixed wireless access network is determined. The uplink and downlink prescheduling for a first one or more subscriber units is terminated. The first one or more subscriber units is associated with a first subscription tier. The uplink and downlink prescheduling is continued for a second one or more subscriber units associated with a second subscription tier higher than the first subscription tier.

Uplink and downlink prescheduling in fixed wireless access networks

Systems and methods for roaming user equipment (UE) management services for wireless communications networks are provided. In some embodiments, a roaming UE may be triggered to initiate a PLMN search based on leveraging geolocation based technology that determines when a roaming UE presently attached to a base station has entered a geographical area where coverage from a terrestrial base station may be available. The base station may track the location of the roaming UE, and correlate the location of the roaming UE to a coverage bin of the terrestrial coverage heat map. If the roaming UE is located within a coverage bin that is flagged as having terrestrial coverage available, the base station may perform one or more operations to trigger the UE to proceed to initiate a PLMN search, and perform an attach procedure to a base station having an identified higher priority PLMN.

Systems and methods for roaming user equipment management services for wireless communications networks

Systems and methods are provided for optimizing layer assignment to UEs that are currently on an LTE network, or that are experiencing EPS fallback and are moving from 5G to LTE. Instead of blindly assigning a UE an LTE layer or assigning the same layer to all UEs, aspects provided for an intelligent and dynamic selection of an LTE layer for each UE. The network may analyze one or both of layer compatibility information and historical data associated with the UEs. With this information, the network assigns an LTE layer to each UE.

Optimizing layer assignment during EPS fallback procedures

Systems and methods are provided to address issues related to poor radio conditions (e.g., SS-RSRP/SS-RSRQ/SS-SINR) associated with poor coverage for user devices (e.g., user equipment (UEs)) positioned between Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) beams emitted from a cell tower. Specifically, Next Generation Node B (gNB) may identify the location of the user devices (reporting poor signal strength due to poor radio conditions) based on angle or arrival and/or timing advance. Systems and methods further include controlling a phase and amplitude of the SSB beam(s) serving the user device to improve the signal strength of these user devices experiencing poor radio conditions, until the signal strength is within/above target threshold value(s). In this manner, user coverage is improved, with the option to prioritize premium subscribers, without the need for employing a more expensive alternative (e.g., building additional cell sites and towers) for improving user coverage.

Systems and methods for controlling beam parameters to improve signal strength

Aspects of the present disclosure a method for dynamic steering across non-standalone and standalone network architectures based on uplink throughput requirements is provided. The method begins with determining if at least one UE is active on an SA layer. A determination is then made whether the UE has only non-guaranteed bit rate data bearers with no voice and delay sensitive bearers. The uplink buffer threshold for the at least one UE is then compared with an operator defined uplink buffer threshold. Next, a comparison is made with an uplink throughput estimate on the SA and an uplink throughput estimate for the at least one UE on an NSA layer is made. If the NSA layer has a higher uplink throughput estimate than the SA layer, a dynamic handover is performed from the SA layer to the NSA layer.

Dynamic steering across non-standalone and standalone network architectures based on uplink throughput requirements

A system and method of managing network bandwidth is provided, in which one or more utilization thresholds are set for an access node, wherein the access node is configured to communicate using a band consisting of a first portion corresponding to communication in a first communication mode and a second communication mode and a second portion corresponding to communication in the first communication mode but not the second communication mode; and one or more utilization parameters are monitored and compared to the corresponding utilization threshold(s). Based on the comparison, the sizes of the portions may be modified and/or wireless devices seeking to join the network may be appropriately assigned.

Spectrum management for DSS-based networks

Systems and methods are provided for a secondary node that provides assistance to primary nodes in determining whether a user device should be switched to another primary node in order to improve the service experience. In aspects, when a user device is operating with dual connectivity, a secondary node can determine whether the service experience for the user device can be improved with a handover to another primary node based on the timing advance value and/or angle of approach value for the user device relative to an index that defines value(s) for matching a user device to available primary nodes. When the service experience can be improved, the secondary node sends an assist notification to the primary node that presently serves the user device, which triggers the primary node to hand over the user device to the other primary node identified for service improvement.

System and method of secondary node assisted dual connectivity in wireless networks

Systems and methods are provided for assigning PDCP discard timers to wireless devices with active non-GBR sessions. The systems and methods evaluate cell utilization for a cell with respect to a cell utilization threshold and define the cell as congested or non-congested based on the evaluation. Further, RF conditions are evaluated for the wireless device with respect to a first RF conditions threshold for the non-congested cell and a second RF conditions threshold for the congested cell. Systems and methods further select a discard timer for the wireless device based on the evaluation of the cell utilization with respect to the cell utilization threshold and the evaluation of the RF conditions with respect to the RF conditions thresholds.
