A slide cam unit with a cam region is provided with an adjusting device having an actuator for adjusting the slide cam unit to different axial positions via slide grooves on the circumference of the slide cam unit. The adjusting device is arranged in a stationary manner and a device for fastening the slide cam unit in the different axial positions is provided. The cam region and the slide groove region of the slide cam unit are designed as separate cam and slide groove components which are fastened to each other with a positive-fit connection and fixed in place to each other by their support on the base shaft.

Constructed slide cam unit

Reciprocating-piston internal combustion engine with intake and exhaust valves actuatable by sliding cams of a camshaft, arranged so that they are rotationally locked but axially moveable on a base shaft, and with an actuator unit for each sliding cam unit with at least one actuator pin for the displacement of the sliding cam units into different axial positions. The actuator pins are spring-loaded in the direction of the sliding cam unit and are fixable in their retracted position away from the sliding cam unit by latches having spring-loaded control needles that correspond to clamping bodies of the latches and are releasable via an electromagnet and permanent magnets that are in active connection with the control needles, and acceleration of the control needles defined by the spring force of each moving mass due to their springs is compensated by the acceleration of the actuator pins due to their allocated compressive springs.

Switchable cam follower

Engine with a crank mechanism and a cylinder head whose intake and exhaust channels are regulated by gas exchange valves activated by cams of at least one camshaft. The cams are sliding cams with at least one cam per sliding cam assembly arranged rotationally fixed but axially displaceable on a base shaft, and each having an actuator with an actuator pin for displacing the sliding cam assemblies into different axial positions via at least one displacement groove which cooperates with the pin. The displacement groove being helical shaped and having a run-in and a run-out region for the pin and a displacement flank and an opposing support flank. A detent device locks the sliding cam assemblies in different axial positions. A distance between the displacement flank and the support flank remains constant along the entire extent of the displacement groove parallel to the displacement direction of the sliding cam assembly.

A switchable finger lever for a valve drive of an internal combustion engine having an interior lever encompassed by arms of an exterior lever, with a joint axle extending through the levers so they are relatively pivotal. A stub projects from the axle at each exterior side, with the respective stub being encompassed by a coil section of a pivot pin spring, having one leg acting upon the exterior lever and another leg acting upon the interior lever to pre-load the levers relative to each other, with the coil section encompassing a bush encasing an exterior casing of the stub. The bush encompasses the stub with a clearance fit and, for fixation of the axle, an annular groove with a safety ring is located inside the bush bore, and engages a radially inwardly located groove in the exterior casing of the stub allowing the axle to be disassembled without destruction.

Switchable finger lever

An internal combustion piston engine having gas exchange valves actuated by cams of a camshaft. The cams are sliding cams having two cams per sliding cam unit situated on a basic shaft in rotationally fixed fashion but axially displaceable. At least one actuator unit has two actuator pins for displacing the sliding cam units into different axial positions using displacement grooves on the circumference of the sliding cam units, the grooves being helical and situated mirror-symmetrically, and having an ejection ramp for the actuator pins. The actuator pins are spring-loaded toward the sliding cam unit and, in retracted positions, can be fixed by arresting devices, which have control needles that correspond to clamping bodies of locking devices. These needles are actuatable by an electromagnet unit, with the control needles being connected with a needle bridge. A pin engages the needle bridge, and the pin is controlled by the electromagnet unit.
