A catheter fixation device () includes a body (), a catheter () having a proximal portion () and a distal portion that passes through an opening () in the body (), and an anti-pull-out lock mechanism comprising an arcuate channel () bounded by a pair of arcuate walls () extending from a floor of the body (). A coiled portion () of the catheter () is constrained to move between the arcuate walls () during movement of the proximal portion () and the distal portion remains substantially in place.

Catheter fixation device

A guide tube () has a guidewire-engaging portion () at a distal portion () thereof, a first stent () surrounding the guide tube, advanceable together with the guide tube into a subject's lumen, a guidewire () arranged (i) entering the guide tube from a distal-end () opening thereof, (ii) disposed in the guidewire-engaging portion, and (iii) passing out of the guide tube proximally to the guidewire-engaging portion, and a second stent (), proximal to the first stent, surrounding a proximal portion () of the guide tube and the guidewire. The first stent is slidably deployable off the distal end of the guide tube upon the guidewire having laterally exited the guidewire-engaging portion, and the second stent is slidably deployable off the distal end of the guide tube subsequently to deployment of the first stent, without the guidewire having been moved proximally. Other applications are also described.

Deployment of multiple biliary stents

A stent-deployment assembly for use with a guidewire comprises a biliary stent and an elongated stent-conveyance tube comprising a guidewire-retaining segment that includes respective distal and proximal apertures defining a guidewire-path therethrough, and a lengthways laterally-breachable portion. In a stent-advancement configuration, the guidewire passes through the respective apertures so as to interiorly traverse the guidewire-retaining segment, and the stent is arranged to surround a stent-conveyance tube segment that is proximally displaced from the guidewire-retaining segment, for advancement of the stent together with the stent-conveyance tube along the guidewire into a body lumen of a human subject. When the stent is disposed, in the stent-advancement configuration, at a target deployment location within the lumen, a proximal-direction withdrawal of the stent-conveyance tube is effective to cause the guidewire to breach the laterally-breachable portion of the guidewire-retaining segment so as to decouple the guidewire from the tube without longitudinal displacement of the guidewire.

Methods and assemblies for deploying biliary stents

A weight scale system is for measuring the weight of an object, which includes a bed section, a vertical separator actuator and a controller. The bed section includes a lower-platform, an upper-platform and weight sensor assemblies located on the lower-platform, each includes at least one weight sensor. The bed section further includes at least one vertical-separator. The vertical-separator actuator is coupled with the vertical-separator and with the controller. The controller is coupled with the weight sensors. The controller directs the vertical-separator actuator to operate the bed section in at least two modes, a referencing mode in which the vertical-separator detaches the upper-platform from the weight sensor assemblies, thereby enabling referencing the weight sensors, and a weighing mode, in which the vertical separator re-attaches the upper-platform with the weight sensor assemblies, such that the weight associated with the upper-platform is fully applied on the weight sensors.

Weight scales systems and methods

Apparatus () is provided for use with a guidewire (). The apparatus includes a guide tube () having a guidewire-engaging portion () and a slit () extending proximally along a wall of the guide tube, from a distal end () of the tube, a proximal end () of the slit being located distally to a proximal end () of the tube. A first stent () surrounds the tube and is advanceable together with the tube into a lumen of a subject, the first stent being slidably advanceable off the distal end of the tube; and a second stent (), proximal to the first stent, surrounding a proximal portion of the tube, and advanceable off the distal end of the tube into the lumen, and placed alongside the first stent subsequently to advancement of the first stent off the distal end of the tube. Other applications are also described.
