A YIG oscillator including a magnetic structure; an oscillator circuit board attached to the magnetic structure and carrying a YIG resonator positioned in an air gap of the magnetic structure; an interface circuit board including terminals for external connections, the interface circuit board supporting the magnetic structure by means of a resilient component attached to the interface circuit board; and a flexible circuit connected at one end to the oscillator circuit board and connected at the other end to the interface circuit board.

Microwave circuit, capped microwave circuit and use thereof in a circuit

A YIG component for providing a microwave frequency output signal has a cavity holding an electromagnetic circuit defining an air gap between a pair of pole pins. The cavity having a tuning coil for generating a homogeneous magnetic field in the air gap, and further holding a YIG unit comprising a carrier; at least one ferrite crystal arranged in the air gap; and an interface connected to the ferrite crystal or crystals for providing the microwave frequency output signal. A magnetic core is included in the electromagnetic circuit and comprises the pole pins combined with magnetic flux closing path elements shaped as bars, the pole pins and the bar-shaped elements forming an open structure. The YIG component includes a support housing made of a nonmagnetic material having formed therein the above-mentioned cavity and having inside the cavity integral precision-tooled surfaces for the carrying and relative positioning of the electromagnetic circuit and the YIG unit. The surfaces comprise a first positioning seat for the magnetic core and a second positioning seat for the carrier, the core and the carrier being thus supported separately by the support housing.

Yig component

The invention is directed to the structure of a YIG-component. The component comprises a magnetic circuit for generating an homogeneous magnetic field in an air gap of the magnetic circuit and at least one ferrite crystal (81) arranged in the air gap. The magnetic resonance frequency of the ferrite crystal (81) may be controlled dependent on the strength of the homogeneous magnetic field. The magnetic circuit is enclosed in a cavity of a housing (53, 55) arranged for mechanically relieving the magnetic circuit from external influence. The housing (53, 55) may be formed from a material selected at will. The magnetic circuit is arranged in a specifically shaped seat for accurate positioning of the air gap in the housing (53, 55). A foundation formed in the housing (53, 55) is provided for supporting a YIG-unit (75) comprising the ferrite crystal (81) with correct positioning of the ferrite crystal in the air gap.
