A current sensor includes an induction coil, a Hall sensor, and a calibration coil loaded by a generator continuously with a calibration current of defined frequency &#x3c9;. A first evaluation circuit is loaded with the induction signal. A second evaluation circuit, whose input receives the Hall signal, includes a low-pass filter. A third evaluation circuit evaluates a part of the Hall signal that is attributed to the calibration current and uses it for defining a parameter of the second evaluation circuit. A fourth evaluation circuit generates an output signal that represents the current magnitude and is the sum of the output signal of the first evaluation circuit and the output signal of the second evaluation circuit minus the part of the output signal of the second evaluation circuit which is attributed to the calibration current.

A system and method for managing the electrical power associated with a vehicle detects whether an engine speed is below a speed set point for a minimum duration. A thermal sensor is arranged to detect whether a first temperature associated with a first cooling fan, a first coolant, or a first vehicle component is below a first target temperature. A fan controller or a power management controller is configured to disable or slow the first cooling fan to conserve a first level of electrical energy if the first temperature is below a target temperature and if the engine speed is below the speed set point for a minimum duration.

An electric motor features liquid cooling capability. A rotor and a secondary rotor are coupled to a shaft for rotation therewith. The rotor comprises a first annular member and magnets secured to the first annular member. The secondary rotor comprises a second annular member and secondary magnets secured to the second annular member. A stator is spaced axially apart from the rotor and the secondary rotor. The stator comprises a plurality of generally planar windings secured to a magnetic core and a secondary planar windings secured to a secondary magnetic core. The magnetic core has at least one cooling channel.

A set of cylindrical members are spaced apart beneath the seat. A tension member is arranged to engage the cylindrical members. The tension member is attached to the seat via a bracket. An electric motor is capable of driving one of the cylindrical members. A first sensor is arranged to detect first sensor data associated with an instantaneous position of the seat versus time. A controller generates a first control signal for the electric motor to change a height of the seat in opposition to a change in the instantaneous position of the seat and a second control signal to change the pressure level.

An agricultural vehicle including plurality of engines, a plurality of mechanical loads, a plurality of electrical generators, a plurality of electrical loads, at least one load sensor, and a controller. The plurality of engines includes a first engine and a second engine. The plurality of mechanical loads includes a first mechanical load and a second mechanical load. The first mechanical load is coupled to the first engine and a second mechanical load is coupled to the second engine. The plurality of electrical generators includes a first generator and a second generator. The first generator is coupled to the first engine and the second generator is coupled to the second engine. The plurality of electrical loads can be separately coupled to the first generator or the second generator. The at least one load sensor is configured to produce a signal representative of the first mechanical load on the first engine, the second mechanical load on the second engine, a sum of electrical loads on the first generator, and/or a sum of electrical loads on the second generator. The controller is configured to shift at least one of the plurality of electrical loads between the first generator and the second generator dependent upon the signal.

The system and method manages an electrical output of a turbogenerator in accordance with multiple modes. In a first mode, a direct current (DC) bus receives power from a turbogenerator output via a rectifier where turbogenerator revolutions per unit time (e.g., revolutions per minute (RPM)) or an electrical output level of a turbogenerator output meet or exceed a minimum threshold. In a second mode, if the turbogenerator revolutions per unit time or electrical output level of a turbogenerator output are less than the minimum threshold, the electric drive motor or a generator mechanically powered by the engine provides electrical energy to the direct current bus.

Method and system for managing an electrical output of a turbogenerator

A system and method controls a rotational speed of a rotor or shaft of a turbogenerator in accordance with a present voltage level on a direct current bus. A lower threshold and a higher threshold are established for a speed of a rotor or shaft of a turbogenerator. A speed sensor determines speed data or a speed signal for the rotor or shaft associated with a turbogenerator. A voltage regulator adjusts a voltage level associated with a direct current bus within a target voltage range if the speed data or speed signal indicates that the speed is above the higher threshold or below the lower threshold.

Method and system for controlling a rotational speed of a rotor of a turbogenerator

A speed monitor for establishing a lower threshold and an upper threshold for a speed of a rotor or shaft of a turbogenerator. A speed detector detects speed data or a speed signal for a rotor or shaft associated with a turbogenerator. A turbogenerator controller controls an output current of the turbogenerator based on the detected speed data or speed signal to control a rotational speed of the rotor or the shaft. A voltage monitor establishes a lower voltage limit and an upper voltage limit for a generator. A voltage detector detects an output voltage level associated with the generator. A motor/generator controller controls the output voltage level of the generator electrical output by invoking at least one of a motor mode and a generator mode based on the detected output voltage level to maintain a desired operational voltage range.

Electrical power regulation for a turbogenerator and generator associated with an internal combustion engine

An engine/electric generator system includes an internal combustion engine, a primary electric generator driven by an output shaft of the engine and providing electrical power. A turbocharger has a first turbine driven by exhaust gasses from the engine and a compressor driven by the first turbine and provides inlet air to the engine. The system also includes a secondary turbine, and an exhaust line which communicates exhaust gas from the first turbine to an input of the secondary turbine. A secondary electric generator is driven by the secondary turbine. An electric power combining circuit combines electric power from the primary electric generator and the secondary electric generator, and delivers combined electric power to a transmission line.
