For example, a server may perform operations including storing relay account information corresponding to at least one relay station to provide Internet access, and client account information of at least one client, the client account information comprising credit information indicating a credit balance of the client; processing a connection request received from a wireless station via the relay station, the connection request to request an Internet connection via the relay station, the connection request comprising a client identifier of the client; sending to the wireless station via the relay station connection establishment information to establish the Internet connection via the relay station; and updating the credit balance based on usage information from the relay station, the usage information indicating a usage of the Internet connection by the wireless station.

Apparatus, system and method of internet connectivity via a relay station

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced channel access for wireless communications. A device may determine a first transmission opportunity (TXOP) for a first time period, wherein the first time period is allocated to the device for transmission of one or more frames to a first device on a channel. The device may determine an extended TXOP for a second time period, wherein the extended TXOP is allocated to the device after a time gap from the first TXOP. The device may perform an enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) operation before accessing the channel. The device may cause to send a first frame of the one or more frames on the channel during the first TXOP.

Optimizing applications behavior in a device for power and performance

A network controller of a communication network that serves one or more communication devices controls placement of one or more communication devices, such as a range extender, in the communication network. The network controller can control a communication device (e.g., a mobile device) and an access point serving the communication device to measure one or more wireless characteristics to generate first and second measurement information, respectively. The network controller can determine a placement score based on the first measurement information and the second measurement, and determine a placement location of the ranger extender within the communication network based on the placement score. The network controller can provide the placement location to the communication device and/or the range extender to indicate the placement location in which the range extender is to be positioned within the communication network.

Communication network controller and method

A communication manager of a communication network can include a transceiver configured to communicate with communication stations and one or more clients of the communication network, and a controller. The controller can be configured to: generate a management packet and provide, using the transceiver, the management packet to the communication stations to control the communication stations to monitor a communication from the client of the one or more clients and measure the client communication; obtain respective measurements from the communication stations using the transceiver; and control the client of the one or more clients to select a communication station from the communication stations to serve the client based on the respective measurements.

Communication network management system and method

Optical wireless communication techniques are described and claimed. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to method and apparatus to provide optical signaling with visible light having variable pulse position modulation (VPPM). The optical signal includes a Start Frame Delimiter (SFD) which indicates beginning of an asynchronous optical signaling. The VPPM signaling includes a lower frequency time varying amplitude component that when subsampled by a low frame rate camera results in alias induced flicker or blinking. Such signals are quickly recognizable as signals with modulated data. In another embodiment, the disclosure provides a system, device and method for decoding a Start Frame Delimiter (SFD) to indicate arrival of incoming VPPM optical data.

Techniques for optical wireless communication

Techniques are disclosed to automatically connect a mobile device to an external display or wireless dock by establishing a bi-directional link between the mobile device and the external display or wireless dock, receiving an image captured by the external display or wireless dock via the bi-directional link by the mobile device, and evaluating the image by the mobile device to verify that the external display or wireless dock is the intended external display or wireless dock with which to connect to the mobile device.

Techniques for discovery of wi-fi serial bus and wi-fi docking services

Disclosed in some examples is a method including receiving at a coordinator node a plurality of operational reports from a plurality of devices, each device engaging in a WiFi Direct communication session, the operational reports identifying a first communication parameter used for the WiFi Direct wireless communication session and a second communication parameter observed of a neighboring communication session; calculating one or more optimal communication parameters for one or more of the plurality of devices using the first and second communication parameters from the plurality of operational reports; and sending to the one or more of the plurality of devices the calculated one or more optimal communication parameters, wherein the plurality of operational reports are received and the optimal communication parameters are sent over a network out-of-band from the WiFi Direct communication sessions.
