A plaster frame assembly includes a base plate that has a base wall and a plurality of side walls that extend substantially perpendicular to the base wall from a perimeter of the base wall. The base wall includes at least one regressed pad that has a plurality of perforations. The plurality of perforations receive one or more securing fasteners therethrough to secure or fasten the base plate to the ceiling. Furthermore, the base wall includes one or more sealing features that provide an air-tight sealing for a recessed housing can received through and retained in a can receiving opening formed in the base wall. The one or more sealing features include multiple collar sections that define a groove for receiving a sealing member, and one or more sealing tabs disposed between the multiple collar sections and configured to seal one or more adjustment apertures of the recessed housing can.

An adjustable light fixture can include a housing having at least one wall that forms a first cavity, wherein in the housing has a top portion and a bottom end. The fixture can also further include a body having a first body portion and a second body portion, where the body is movably disposed within the first cavity of the housing, where the body is configured to have a plurality of positions relative to the housing. The adjustable light fixture can also include a resilient device disposed between the first body portion and the second body portion to simultaneously push the first body portion against the top portion of the housing and the second body portion against the bottom end of the housing when the body is in each of the positions relative to the housing.

A lighting fixture can dispose a light source in a recess of a ceiling or another surface while providing at least one of three adjustments that facilitates installation or post-installation setup. The first adjustment can support mounting the fixture to surfaces of differing thicknesses while maintaining the light source at a uniform recess depth. The second possible adjustment can facilitate rotating a visible portion of the fixture, typically an aperture or hole through which light transmits from the light source into a room or some other illuminated space. After the lighting fixture is attached to the ceiling, a user can rotate the aperture for alignment with another fixture or another object. The third possible adjustment can provide an illumination pattern that can be tilted to various angles or oriented in various directions according to user preference or to establish a desired lighting effect.

A lighting system can comprise a receptacle for mounting and supplying electricity to a lamp. The receptacle can be compatible with multiple types of lamp sockets. For example, the receptacle can be compatible with two types of lamp sockets that utilize spring force for socket retention in the receptacle. In one such lamp socket type, a spring clip retains the lamp socket in the receptacle utilizing outward spring force. In another such lamp socket type, a spring clip retains the lamp socket in the receptacle utilizing inward spring force.

A hanger bar assembly includes a first hanger bar member and a second hanger bar member. The first hanger bar member includes a first rail segment, a first channel segment including a first channel, and a first stoppage tab extending up above an edge of the first channel segment. The second hanger bar member includes a second rail segment positioned in the first channel of the first channel segment and a second channel segment that includes a second channel. The first rail segment is positioned in the second channel. The second hanger bar member further includes a second stoppage tab extending out in a horizontal direction. The first stoppage tab and the second stoppage tab are designed to abut against each other to prevent unintended disengagement of the first hanger bar member from the second hanger bar member.
