A low-pollution combustor and a combustion control method therefor. The low-pollution combustor includes a combustor head including a primary combustion stage and a precombustion stage, the primary combustion stage including a primary-combustion-stage channel and a primary-combustion-stage swirler disposed in the primary-combustion-stage channel. The primary combustion stage includes a pre-film plate disposed in the primary-combustion-stage channel, and the pre-film plate is radially divided into an outer-layer pre-film plate and an inner-layer pre-film plate. The positions and injection directions of fuel jet points of the primary combustion stage control fuel of the primary combustion stage to be injected into the primary-combustion-stage channel through primary-combustion-stage fuel jet orifices; and part of the fuel directly forms primary-combustion-stage direct-injection fuel spray, and the other part is hit on the pre-film plate close to an inner side of the primary-combustion-stage channel, or the two parts are respectively hit on the two layers of pre-film plates.

A tubular solid state lighting device is disclosed having a light transmissive tube. A flexible carrier strip having a first portion attached to an inner wall section of the tube, and comprises an elongate major surface and a further elongate major surface opposite the elongate major surface. The elongate major surface carries a plurality of solid state lighting elements on the first portion and a plurality of electrically conductive contacts on adjacent terminal regions separated by a recess at one end. The flexible carrier strip is soldered to a rigid printed circuit board comprising a first major surface onto which a driver circuit for the solid state lighting elements is mounted facing the flexible carrier strip and a second major surface opposite the first major surface carrying a plurality of spatially separated soldering pads along an edge of the second major surface. The further elongate major surface contacts the second major surface such that each electrically conductive contact is aligned with one of the spatially separated soldering pads and is soldered to said soldering pad by a solder portion extending over the terminal region carrying said electrically conductive contact. A method of forming such an assembly and an assembly method for a tubular lighting device are also disclosed.

Tubular lighting device assembly

A system for measuring total microbiological content in an aqueous medium by adding a fluorescent dye to the aqueous medium, measuring the fluorescent signal in the aqueous medium to obtain a baseline fluorescent signal, releasing intracellular content of the microbiological matter into the aqueous medium by lysing the microbiological matter. The system then measures the fluorescent signal in the aqueous medium with the released intracellular content of the microbiological matter to obtain a second fluorescent signal. Next, the system subtracts the baseline signal from the second fluorescent signal to obtain a net fluorescent signal and equates the net fluorescent signal with a microbiological content.

Total bacteria monitoring system

A method of treating a liquid sample having microbiological target species therein to concentrate the species and collect lysate is disclosed. The liquid sample comprises non-target microbiological particles, inorganic particles, and microbiological target species. The liquid is passed through a prefilter medium to allow the target species to pass through as filtrate and retain non-target microbiological products and inorganic particles thereon. The filtrate is contacted with a main filtration medium adapted to retain the target species thereon as retentate. The retentate is lysed to form a lysate containing target material that was enveloped within the microbiological target species. The microbiological species may comprise cell containing or viral material. Target materials comprise intracellular nucleic acids, or in the case of viral sampling, nucleic acids encased within the protein sheath or coating of the virus.
