Microcapsules including a polymeric shell and an internal phase including a non-photopolymerizable reactive diluent are provided for use in microcapsule imaging sheets. Imaging sheets including microcapsules which include a non-photopolymerizable reactive diluent, and which exhibit improvements in color development (Dmax), discoloration (yellowing) resistance, mechanical properties (e.g., peel strength), and temperature latitude of imaging sheets including leuco dyes.

Primer layers having improved reflectivity and thermal insulation properties are provided for use in microencapsulated thermal imaging sheets. Primer layers having a polymeric binder, of about 3% to about 60% by weight, relative to the total weight of the primer layer, of a white particulate, a primer substrate, and hollow particulate particles improve the reflectivity, color development, color density, and thermal insulation of microcapsule imaging sheets including the same. A black back-coat applied to the substrate on a side opposite the primer layer further enhances the Dmax and Eof microcapsule imaging sheets and prevents premature exposure of microcapsule imaging sheets in stacked media.

The reflective layer includes at least five percent reflective particles by percentage weight.

The tiers may be at the same or different depths within the adhesive layer. More than two tiers of conductive particles may be present in the ACF.

The electric curtain includes a sunlight detector for obtaining light information of sunlight and a light modulation device capable of receiving the sunlight and for adjusting an emergent angle of the sunlight to refract the sunlight to a ceiling of a room.

A carrier belt for fabricating a device or component such as an anisotropic conductive film. The carrier belt includes a substrate having a sacrificial image enhancing layer. Microcavities are formed in the carrier by laser ablation through the image enhancing layer. After the image enhancement layer is removed, a plurality of conductive particles are distributed into an array of microcavities formed by laser ablation on a surface of a carrier belt and transferred to an adhesive layer. The image enhancing layer enables one to form microcavities with a fine pitch and spacing and partitions having a high aspect ratio.

An aspect of the invention provides a display with an adjustable focus mechanism. The display with an adjustable focus mechanism includes a display panel for emitting a plurality of rays to form an image; a light modulation device for receiving the rays from the display panel and adjusting an emergent angle of each ray; and a controller for providing a control signal to drive the light modulation device by estimating the emergent angle of the each of the rays according to an eyesight data of a user and a distance between the user and the display.

The present invention is directed to a display device which comprises two layers of insulating substrate, at least the substrate on the viewing side is transparent, an array of display cells sandwiched between the two layers of substrate, a writing means, and optionally an erasing means to magnetically or electrically erase the image. The display cells are filled with a dispersion of magnetic particles which may be charged or non-charged. The display of the invention eliminates the use of the transparent conductor film, such as ITO, on the viewing side. Therefore, the displays of this invention are more cost effective, more flexible and durable and capable of higher image contrast ratio and higher reflectance in the Dmin area.

A method for fabricating an electronic device or component such as an anisotropic conductive film comprising: distributing a plurality of conductive particles into an array of microcavities formed on a surface of a continuous carrier belt, rotating the belt carrying the conductive particles while conveying a surface of an adhesive layer into contact with the surface of the rotating belt, transferring the conductive particles from the microcavities on the belt to the adhesive layer in predefined locations in the adhesive layer corresponding to the array of microcavities on the belt, and separating the adhesive layer from the surface of the belt.
